Your canvas is a visual workspace where you bring together content, notes, and AI. This guide covers all the ways to add items and build out your canvas.

Use the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas to add:
Items from workspace

Positioning Items
Move Items
Click and drag any item to reposition it.
Snap to Grid
Hold Cmd/Ctrl while dragging to snap items to an invisible grid. This helps keep your canvas organized.
Resize Items
Drag the corners or edges of an item to resize it.
Arrange Layout
There's no "right" way to arrange your canvas. Some options:
Left to right — Research on left, AI in middle, output on right
Clusters — Group related items together
Flow — Arrange in the order you'll work through them
Organizing with Shapes and Text
Use Shapes to Group
Add rectangles behind groups of related items to visually organize your canvas.
Add Labels
Use text items to label sections: "Research," "Drafts," "AI Brainstorming"
Create Visual Flow
Use lines or arrows to show how items connect or the order to work through them.
Tips for Building Good Canvases
Start with Your Goal
What are you trying to accomplish? Add only the items that help with that goal.
Don't Overcrowd
A canvas with 50 items is hard to navigate. Keep it focused, or create multiple canvases for different aspects of a project.
Position AI Chats Strategically
Put AI chats near the items you'll connect to them. This keeps connection lines short and clean.
Leave Space
Give items room to breathe. You can always zoom out, but a cramped canvas is hard to work with.
Use the Whole Canvas
The canvas is infinite. Spread out if you need to.

Action | How |

Common Questions
Can I add items from other workspaces?
Items must be in your current workspace to add them to a canvas.
Do changes to items reflect on the canvas?
Yes. If you edit a note that's on a canvas, the canvas shows the updated version.
Can I have the same item on multiple canvases?
Yes. The same video, PDF, or note can be added to as many canvases as you want.
Is there a limit to how many items I can add?
No hard limit, but very crowded canvases can be hard to work with. Consider splitting into multiple canvases.
Can I copy items between canvases?
You can drag the original item from your sidebar to another canvas. Direct copy between canvases isn't available.
