Eden Canvas is where research, content, and AI come together in one visual workspace. Drag items from your workspace, connect them to AI chats, and work on everything in a single view — no more switching between tabs.

What Is a Canvas?

Think of a canvas as an infinite workspace where you can:

• Drag in any item from your workspace (videos, PDFs, notes, links)

• Create notes directly on the canvas for outlines, scripts, or ideas

• Add AI chat nodes and connect them to your content

• Annotate with shapes, drawings, and text labels

Unlike a folder (which just stores items), a canvas is where you work — bringing everything together visually so you can see the big picture.

Creating a Canvas

There are three ways to create a new canvas:

1. Quick create bar — Click + Canvas at the top of your workspace

2. The + button — Click the + in the top left

3. Right-click — Right-click inside any folder and select New Canvas

Adding Items to Your Canvas

From Your Workspace

Drag any item from your workspace sidebar directly onto the canvas:

• Videos

• PDFs

• Images

• Notes

• Links (YouTube, Instagram, etc.)

Create Directly on Canvas

You can also create new items without leaving the canvas:

• Notes: Create outlines, scripts, or project documents right on the canvas

• Shapes: Add rectangles, circles, arrows to organize visually

• Text labels: Add headings or annotations

• Drawings: Sketch or annotate freehand

Connecting Items to AI

This is where Canvas becomes powerful. You can connect any item to an AI chat, giving the AI full context of that content — without needing to copy/paste or @ mention anything.

How to Connect

1. Create an AI chat node on your canvas (or drag from an existing item to create one automatically)

2. Drag from the connection dot on any item to the AI chat node

The connection dots are "magnetic" — they'll snap together to make connecting easy.

Want to create a new AI chat with an item already connected?

Drag from any item's connection dot into empty space on the canvas — Eden will automatically create a new AI chat node with that item connected.

What Happens When You Connect

Once connected, the AI automatically has full context from that item:

• Videos: The AI can reference the transcript and visual content

• PDFs: The AI can read and reference the full document

• Notes: The AI can see everything you've written

• Links: The AI has access to the transcribed/extracted content

You don't need to @ mention or paste anything — just ask your question and the AI already knows what you're referencing.

Multiple AI Chats

You can have as many AI chats on a single canvas as you need. This lets you:

• Run parallel conversations — Different chats for different purposes

• Compare outputs — Ask the same question to different AI models

• Build workflows — Connect one AI chat's output to another

Chaining AI Chats Together

Here's something powerful: you can connect AI chats to each other.

This feeds the context from one chat into another, letting you build multi-step workflows. For example:

1. Chat 1: Connected to research videos → "Summarize the key insights"

2. Chat 2: Connected to Chat 1 → "Turn these insights into a blog outline"

3. Chat 3: Connected to Chat 2 → "Write the introduction paragraph"

Moving and Arranging

• Click and drag any item to move it

• Zoom in/out using scroll or pinch gestures

• Pan by clicking and dragging on empty space

Common Questions

Can I connect the same item to multiple AI chats?

Yes! An item can be connected to as many AI chats as you need.

Do AI chats share context with each other?

Only if you connect them. Each AI chat is independent unless you explicitly chain them together.

What about AI model context limits?

Different AI models have different context limits. If you connect many large items, you may hit limits on some models. Eden will let you know if this happens.

Can I share a canvas with my team?

Yes — canvases work like any other item in your workspace. You can share them with team members (if you're on a plan that includes team features).
