Copied!

Uploading content to Eden is the first step to building your creative workspace. This guide walks you through adding your first files and links.

Upload a File

There are three ways to upload files:

Drag and Drop (Fastest)

Drag any file from your computer directly into Eden. Drop it in:

  • The main area to add to root

  • A specific folder in the sidebar to organize it immediately

Using the + Button

  1. Click the + button in the top left

  2. Select Upload

  3. Choose files from your computer

  4. Select a destination folder (optional)

Right-Click in a Folder

  1. Right-click inside any folder

  2. Select Upload

  3. Choose your files

Add a Link

To save a YouTube video, Instagram Reel, or web page:

  1. Click Link in the quick create bar (top of workspace)

  2. Paste the URL

  3. Choose a folder (optional)

  4. Click Save

Eden downloads and processes the content automatically.

Supported links:

  • YouTube videos and Shorts

  • Instagram Reels

  • Twitter/X posts

  • Substack articles

  • Web pages

  • More links will be supported soon

What Happens After You Upload

Eden immediately starts processing your content in the background:

Content Type

What Eden Does

Video

Transcribes speech, analyzes every frame, creates scene segments

PDF

Extracts all text, makes it searchable

Image

Analyzes visual content

Audio

Transcribes speech

Link

Downloads content, transcribes, analyzes

You'll see a processing indicator on the item. Once it disappears, your content is fully ready — searchable and available to use with AI.

Try It Now

Step 1: Upload a short video (under 5 minutes works great for testing)

Step 2: While it processes, paste a YouTube link to a video you've been meaning to watch

Step 3: Once processed, try searching for something in the video — describe a scene or something that was said

Step 4: Open the video and explore the transcript, segments, and frames Eden created

Tips for Your First Uploads

Start with content you'll actually use

Upload a video you need to reference, a PDF you're studying, or research for a current project. You'll see the value immediately.

Try different content types

Upload a video, paste a YouTube link, add a PDF. See how Eden handles each one differently.

Check the transcript

After a video processes, open it and look at the transcript. This is what powers Eden's search and AI features.

Don't worry about organization yet

You can move things to folders later. The important thing is getting content into Eden so it's processed and searchable.

Common Questions

How long does processing take?

It depends on the content length. A 10-minute video typically takes 1-2 minutes. Longer content takes longer.

Can I use the content while it's processing?

You can view it, but search and AI features work best after processing completes.

What if my upload fails?

Check your file size against your plan limits. If it's within limits and still fails, try again or contact support@eden.so.

Where do uploads go by default?

Uploads go to the root of your workspace unless you drop them in a specific folder or choose a destination.
