Eden gives you access to the best AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek — all in one place. Connect your content to AI chats on Canvas, or use AI directly in your workspace.
Choosing an AI Model
Eden gives you access to AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek — organized into three tiers. You can switch models anytime using the dropdown in any AI chat.
Base Models (1x requests)
Fast, efficient, great for everyday tasks. These handle most work beautifully and are the most cost-effective choice.
Best for: Quick questions, brainstorming, summarizing, everyday tasks
Pro Models (1.5x requests)
Smarter and more nuanced. Better for complex work that requires deeper understanding.
Best for: Detailed analysis, nuanced writing, complex reasoning
Expert Models (2x requests)
The most powerful models available. Deep reasoning and extended thinking capabilities.
Best for: Your most important work — deep research, critical analysis, complex problem-solving
Which Model Should I Use?
Start with Base models. Most users stick with Base for 80%+ of their work — they're fast and handle most tasks well.
Move to Pro when you need more nuance or complexity. Save Expert for your most important work that requires deep reasoning.
We update models to the latest versions as they're released, so you're always getting access to cutting-edge AI.
AI on Canvas vs. Workspace
There are two ways to use AI in Eden:
On Canvas (Recommended for Most Work)
Create AI chat nodes and connect them to your content. The AI automatically has context from everything you connect — no copy/pasting needed.
How it works:
Create a canvas or open an existing one
Add an AI chat node
Connect items (videos, PDFs, notes, links) to the chat
Start chatting — the AI already knows your content
See Canvas Basics for a full guide.
In Your Workspace
You can also chat with AI directly without using Canvas. This is useful for quick questions that don't need specific context from your files.
Connecting Content to AI
When you connect an item to an AI chat on Canvas, the AI automatically has full context:
Content Type | What the AI Can Access |
|---|---|
Videos | Full transcript, scene descriptions |
PDFs | Complete text content |
Notes | Everything you've written |
Links | Transcribed/extracted content |
Images | Visual analysis and description |
You don't need to @ mention or paste anything — just ask your question and the AI already knows what you're referencing.
Tips for Better Results
Be specific — Instead of "summarize this," try "summarize the three main arguments in this document"
Ask follow-ups — The AI remembers your conversation, so you can dig deeper
Connect multiple items — Compare sources, synthesize research, or analyze patterns across content
Chain AI chats — Connect one chat's output to another for multi-step workflows
Understanding AI Requests
Every interaction with AI uses "requests" from your monthly allowance. Most simple messages use about 2 requests. Longer conversations with more context, or using more powerful models, will use more.
For a detailed breakdown of how requests work, token usage, and real-world examples, see Understanding AI Requests.
Checking Your Usage
To see how many requests you have remaining:
Go to
SettingsSelect
BillingView your
Workspaceusage
You'll see:
Requests used this month
Requests remaining
When your allowance resets
What Happens When You Run Out
If you hit your request limit, you have two options:
1. Upgrade Your Plan
Move to a higher tier for more monthly requests:
Plan | Monthly Requests |
|---|---|
Free | 15 |
Starter | 1,000 |
Creator | 2,500 |
Pro | 8,000 |
2. Add More Requests
Purchase an add-on pack of 1,500 requests anytime. The price depends on your plan:
Your Plan | Add-on Price |
|---|---|
Starter | $25 |
Creator | $22 |
Pro | $20 |
No commitment — just add when you need it.

Common Questions
Can I use different models in different chats?
Yes! Each AI chat can use a different model. Switch anytime using the dropdown.
Do connected items use requests?
Connecting an item doesn't use requests. Requests are only used when you send a message and the AI processes your content.
Why did one message use more requests than another?
The AI processes all the context you've connected. More content (longer videos, bigger documents, longer conversation history) = more requests per message.
Can I see which model is best for my task?
Start with Base — it handles most tasks well. If results aren't meeting your needs, try Pro. Reserve Expert for complex analysis where quality matters most.
What if I'm on the Free plan?
Free plans include 15 requests/month — enough to try out the AI features. Upgrade to Starter or higher for regular use.
