Sharing & permissions

Create public links with view or edit access to share items or folders with anyone.

Create public links with view or edit access to share items or folders with anyone.

Copied!

Share your work with anyone — team members or people outside your workspace. Eden lets you create public links with view or edit permissions.

Two Ways to Share

1. Team Members (Workspace)

Add people to your workspace. They see everything in the workspace and can collaborate in real-time.

Best for: Ongoing collaborators, employees, regular partners

See Team Members & Collaboration for details.

2. Public Links

Create a link anyone can use to access specific items. No Eden account required.

Best for: Clients, one-time sharing, external feedback

Creating a Public Link

To share an item via public link:

  1. Right-click on the item (video, note, canvas, etc.)

  2. Select Share

  3. Choose permission level:

    • View — They can see but not edit

    • Edit — They can make changes

  4. Click Create Link

  5. Copy and send the link

Sharing Folders

When you share a folder, everything inside that folder is shared with the same permissions.

This includes:

  • All files in the folder

  • All subfolders and their contents

  • Any items added to the folder in the future

Example: Share your "Client Project" folder with Edit access. The client can now view and edit everything in that folder — and anything you add to it later.

What They Can Do

View

See content, play videos, read notes — no changes

Edit

All of View, plus: modify content, add items, delete items

Choose carefully:

  • View for showing work, getting feedback, sharing references

  • Edit for true collaboration where others need to make changes

What Recipients See

People who access your shared link see:

For individual items:

  • The item itself (video, note, PDF, etc.)

  • A simplified viewing/editing interface

For folders:

  • All contents of the folder

  • Ability to navigate between items

  • View or Edit access depending on permissions

For canvases:

  • The full canvas

  • All items on the canvas

  • AI chat history (but not ability to send new AI messages)

Sharing Best Practices

Use Folders for Projects

Instead of sharing items one by one, create a project folder and share that. New items you add will automatically be accessible.

Be Careful with Edit Access

Edit access means they can delete things too. Use View access unless they truly need to make changes.

Create Client Folders

For each client, create a dedicated folder. Share that folder with them. Everything related to their project stays in one shared space.

Review Before Sharing

Before creating a share link, check that only the content you want to share is in that folder.

Name Things Clearly

Remember that recipients will see your file and folder names. "Final_v3_REAL" looks less professional than "Q4 Campaign - Final"

Common Questions

Do recipients need an Eden account?

No. Public links work for anyone with the link.

Can people with View access copy my content?

They can see it, which means they could screenshot or transcribe it. Only share what you're comfortable being seen.

What happens to shared links if I move the item?

The link continues to work. Moving items within your workspace doesn't break share links.

Can I share with specific email addresses?

Currently, public links work for anyone with the link. For controlled access, add people as team members.

Do shared items use my storage?

Yes. Shared items live in your workspace and count toward your storage limit.

Can recipients add items to shared folders?

Only if they have Edit access. Added items go into your workspace.

Is there a way to see who accessed my links?

Not currently. If you need tracking, consider using view-only links and requesting confirmation.
