Use Eden's markdown editor to write content, take notes, and draft ideas alongside your research.

Copied!

Eden includes a markdown editor for writing content, taking notes, and drafting ideas — all in the same workspace as your research, videos, and AI chats.

Creating a Note

There are several ways to create a new note:

From the Quick Create Bar

  1. Click Note in the quick create bar at the top of your workspace

  2. Choose a folder (or leave in root)

  3. Start writing

From the Sidebar

  1. Right-click on a folder

  2. Select Note

  3. Start writing

In a Project

  1. Open a Project

  2. Create a new note directly inside the Project

  3. Start writing — AI already has context of everything in the Project

Eden's note editor supports Markdown — a simple way to format text using symbols.

Don't know Markdown? Just write normally — the editor also has formatting buttons for bold, italic, headings, and lists.

Quick Notes vs. Structured Documents

Quick Notes

For fast ideas you don't want to lose. When you start a new note, you can hit backspace to remove the heading — this lets you jot down a thought without worrying about titles or structure.

Great for:

  • Random ideas

  • Quick to-dos

  • Fleeting thoughts you'll organize later

Structured Documents

For content you're actually creating — blog posts, newsletters, scripts, outlines.

Great for:

  • Blog posts and articles

  • Video scripts

  • Project outlines

  • Meeting notes

  • Research summaries

Notes in Projects

Notes really shine when you use them inside a Project. You can:

  • Write alongside your research — Have your script open while referencing YouTube videos, PDFs, and AI chats in the same Project

  • Get AI help as you write — AI automatically has context of everything in the Project, so you can ask for feedback, expansion, or editing help without re-explaining

  • Build out ideas — Create multiple notes within a Project to map out different parts of your work

Using AI with Your Notes

Get feedback on your writing

  1. Create a note inside a Project

  2. Ask AI: "Review this draft and suggest improvements"

  3. AI references your note and any other files in the Project for context

Expand an outline

  1. Write a rough outline in a note

  2. Ask AI: "Expand this outline into a full first draft"

  3. AI uses your outline and any research you've added to the Project

Summarize research into notes

  1. Add your research (videos, PDFs, links) to a Project

  2. Ask AI: "Summarize the key points from these sources"

  3. Copy the output into a new note in the Project

Organizing Your Notes

Use folders

Keep notes organized alongside related files. A project folder might contain:

  • Research videos

  • Reference PDFs

  • Your outline note

  • Your draft note

Use clear titles

Good: "Q4 Campaign - Script v2" Not helpful: "Untitled" or "notes"

Archive old notes

Move completed or outdated notes to an Archive folder rather than deleting them.

See Organizing with Folders for more tips.

Common Questions

Can I export my notes? Yes. Notes can be exported as Markdown (.md) files.

Is there a word limit? Notes can be quite long — there's no practical limit for typical use.

Can I collaborate on notes with my team? Yes. Team members can view and edit notes in shared workspaces.

Can I use notes offline? Eden is a cloud-based app, so you'll need an internet connection to access your notes.

What happens if I delete a note? Deleted notes are moved to Trash and can be recovered within 30 days.

Thank you.
