Run a sale
Put products on sale for a set time, for everyone or only for people with a code. A real countdown shows, and the price goes back up when it ends.
In Your store, open Products → Promotions and click New sale, or click Put on sale on a product. Pick the products, how much off, who gets it, and when it starts and ends. Buyers see a banner with a countdown, and the price goes back up when the countdown hits zero.
Set up a sale
- 01
Name it
Type a Name, like "Black Friday". Buyers see it on the sale banner. Or click Black Friday, 48-hour flash sale, or Launch week to fill in the name and dates for you.
- 02
Pick the products
Pick All products, or Pick products. All products also covers products you publish while the sale runs.
- 03
Set how much off
Type the amount, then pick % off or $ off. A sale can take up to 90% off.
- 04
Choose who gets it
Everyone drops the price for every visitor. With a code asks for a code, like
BF40. - 05
Set when it runs
A sale starts right away. Click Pick a time to start it later. Then pick the end. A sale can run up to 30 days. Click Create sale.
You can set a sale up weeks ahead. It turns on and off by itself.
Put one product on sale
- In Products, open the ⋮ menu on a live product and pick Put on sale.
- Or open the product, go to the Offer step, and click Put on sale under Discount codes.
The form starts with just that product picked. The Offer step also lists the sales the product is in.
The preview next to the product editor shows the sale's banner, countdown, and sale price. If the sale hasn't started yet, the preview shows how it will look once it does.
Everyone or a code
| Who gets it | What buyers see |
|---|---|
| Everyone | The lower price, a banner, and the countdown on your product pages and store page |
| With a code | The same, but only after they open a link with the code or type it in |
One sale code works on every product in the sale. To share it, click Copy link on the sale. The link opens your product page (or your store page, when the sale covers more than one product) with the code already applied.
What buyers see
- A banner with the sale's name, like "Black Friday: 40% off", and "Ends in 2d 4h 12m".
- The old price crossed out next to the sale price.
- On your store page, a bar at the top and a small tag on each product in the sale.
When the countdown ends, the banner goes away and the price goes back up on its own. Checkout refuses the sale price after that. Someone who was already paying gets 30 minutes to finish.
Change or end a sale
- Click Edit to change a sale. Once it starts, its start time and Who gets it can't change.
- Click End now to stop a live sale early. Prices go back up right away.
- Click Delete to remove a sale that hasn't started.
Each sale shows its orders and money made, so you can see what it brought in. Your store's Overview also lists each sale under Where sales come from, with its share of your money.

| Memberships | The sale comes off the first payment only. |
| Lowest price | A sale never makes a product free, or drops it under 50¢. It skips it. |
| Not included | Free products, your own checkout, bundles, order bumps, and upsells |
