What can I sell as a digital download?
Anything people read, copy, or download: templates, guides, ebooks, swipe files, checklists, and planners. Add boards, documents, tables, and files you already have in your Eden workspace. Upload PDFs, EPUBs, images, audio, video, or .md files. Or add download-only files like zips, spreadsheets, and Word docs.
How do Eden's fees compare to Gumroad and Stan?
Building on Eden is free. Selling needs Starter at $29 a month, and Eden takes 5% of each sale. Stripe's processing fee comes out of your share. Gumroad has no monthly fee and takes 10% + $0.50 per sale plus processing. Stan's Creator plan is $29 a month with 0% per sale, so Stan costs less per sale. Eden adds templates buyers copy into their own workspace, bundles, order bumps (one-click upsells on Pro), and an AI you can add later. Sales through your own checkout link have no Eden cut, and free products cost nothing.
Which file types can I sell?
PDF, EPUB, images, audio, video, and .md files open inside the product, and buyers can download them if you allow it. Any other file, like a zip, a spreadsheet, or a Word doc, goes in as a download-only file. Programs like .exe, .dmg, and .sh are refused.
Are there file limits?
Download-only files are capped at 20 per product and 2 GB in total. Boards, documents, and tables from your workspace go in as they are.
What happens when I refund someone?
A refund or a revoke stops their downloads right away. Copies they already added to their own workspace stay with them. You refund or revoke from Customers in your store.
How do I update a product after people buy it?
Publishing freezes a copy, so buyers never see half-finished edits. Change your files, then click Publish update. Pick Publish and email to send each buyer a note about what changed, or Publish quietly to skip the email.
Who handles sales tax?
You do. Eden is not the merchant of record. Payments run through your own Stripe account, so you collect and file sales tax and VAT through Stripe, like any store on Stripe. If you sell through your own checkout link, tax stays with that checkout.
Can I charge monthly for a download?
Yes. Set How buyers pay to Membership on the Offer step and add a monthly price, a yearly price, or both. Members keep access while they pay. If they cancel, access lasts until the end of the period they paid for. Good for a template library you add to every month.
Do buyers need the Eden app?
No. Buyers pay on the web and open what they bought on Eden with the email they paid with. The same product also opens in the Eden iPhone and Android apps.
