What can I highlight in Eden?
Anything that opens in the reader: saved articles and newsletters, PDFs, EPUBs, YouTube transcripts, and posts and threads from X, Threads, Substack, and LinkedIn. Select the text, pick a color, and it's saved. On a transcript, press H to mark the passage being played.
Can I highlight on other websites?
Yes. With the Eden Chrome extension, select text on any page, right-click, and choose Save highlight to Eden. It lands in your Library, or in your reading list if you'd rather read the whole thing later.
Which apps can I import from?
Readwise, Kindle, and Snipd for highlights, plus your X bookmarks, Substack Saved posts and Notes, and Instagram saves and collections. Readwise takes your access token. Kindle connects through the Chrome extension, which hands your Amazon session to Eden once. Snipd approves in a browser tab. All of them are under Settings, then Integrations.
Do imports stay up to date?
Yes. Click Sync now on any card to pull new highlights, on any plan. On Personal and above, Eden also re-syncs on its own every day, so new books, snips, and Readwise highlights show up without you doing anything.
Where do all the highlights live?
In one feed with a search box that covers highlight text, book titles, and authors, plus filters for books, articles, tweets, and podcasts, and for a single source or author. In the Library, a Highlights chip and Readwise, Kindle, and Snipd source chips narrow everything to just those.
What happens when I put a highlight on a board?
It becomes a quote card: the passage, your note if you added one, and the source with the author and date, marked with the color you highlighted it in. It stays linked to the original, so Open original is always one click away.
Can I chat with my highlights?
Yes. Send one or several to a chat from the feed, or ask Eden to find your highlights about a topic. Boost a highlight to expand it into an insight, get post ideas from it, or stress test the thinking behind it.
Is highlighting on the free plan?
Yes. Highlighting in the reader and saving from the Chrome extension work on every plan. On Free you can also connect Readwise, Kindle, Snipd, X bookmarks, Substack, and Instagram and import by hand, up to 100 items. Automatic daily sync is on Personal and above.
