Eden vs Cal.com

Cal.com gives you a free booking page. Eden gives you a store your calls live on.

Cal.com packs more into a free plan than any other booking tool, paid calls included. Eden covers the same basics a solo coach needs, then puts every call on your store next to your courses, coaching, and AI, with applications, intake, and a space for each client after the sale.

The short version

Checked September 30, 2026

Cal.com is the most generous free booking tool, with unlimited event types, every major calendar, and paid calls with no commission on its free plan. Eden takes 5% of a paid call, but the call sits on your store next to your courses, coaching, and AI, and a coaching client gets applications, intake, and a private space after they buy. Pick Cal.com if all you need is bookings. Pick Eden if calls are part of what you sell.

01 · Where calls live

Your calls sit next to what you sell.

  • On your store page. Each call type shows as a card with a Book button, beside your courses, coaching, and Custom AIs.

  • From your content and DMs. Auto-DM replies and content links can open a call's booking page, and paid bookings count toward them.

  • Cal.com is a booking page. A very good one. Courses, downloads, and a store live in another tool.

02 · The booking page

It looks like your store, not a scheduler.

  • Your photo and your accent color. Plus a short video hello at the top if you add one.

  • The next open times, up top. Three one-tap times over the calendar, in the visitor's time zone.

  • Cal.com's branding stays on Free. Removing it starts on Teams, at $12 a month.

03 · After the first call

The intro call is where coaching starts.

  • Applications before anyone pays. Invite an applicant to a sales call on their own private link, then approve them.

  • A space for every client. Their calls, the notes you share, and an AI that knows your method and their answers between calls.

  • One set of hours. Intro calls, paid sessions, and coaching calls all book into the same week.

The wedge

What Eden does that Cal.com doesn't

  • Calls on your store, next to your courses, coaching, and Custom AIs, on one calendar.
  • Coaching after the first call: applications, intake, a private space per client, and an AI between calls.
  • A booking page in your store's look, with your photo, your accent, and a video hello.
  • Store discount codes, sales, Auto-DM, and content links that all work on calls.
Honest recommendation

Pick the tool that fits the work in front of you.

Pick Cal.com if

If you only need bookings, want the most on a free plan, use Outlook or Apple Calendar, or need round robin or routing forms, Cal.com is the right tool.

Pick Eden if

If you're a solo coach or creator and calls are how people start working with you, Eden books them on your Google Calendar and carries them into your store and your coaching.

Moving over

Copy your hours, then swap the links.

  • Connect Google Calendar. Pick the calendars that count as busy and the one new calls go on.

  • One call type per event type. Match the length, price, and questions. Set your weekly hours and booking rules once.

  • Keep Cal.com for coaching if you like. A coaching product can still use your Cal.com link, and those calls show up in your Calendar tab.

FAQ

Eden vs Cal.com, common questions.

Can Eden replace Cal.com?

For a solo coach or creator, yes. Make a call type for each kind of call, share its link, and people book into your Google Calendar with a Meet link. They get emails and reminders, and they can move or cancel on their own. If you need round robin or routing forms, or use Outlook or Apple Calendar, keep Cal.com.

Is Eden cheaper than Cal.com?

No. Cal.com's free plan takes paid calls with no commission. Eden's free plan takes free calls; paid calls need Starter at $29 a month, and Eden takes 5% of each one. What the $29 adds is your store, your coaching, and your AI.

Is Cal.com open source?

Not anymore. Cal.com went closed source on April 14, 2026. A community fork, Cal.diy, stays open source for personal self-hosting, without the team and workflow features.

Does Eden work with Outlook or Apple Calendar?

Not yet. Eden connects one Google account and checks the calendars you pick for conflicts. Cal.com connects Google, Outlook, Apple, and Zoho.

Can I keep using Cal.com with Eden?

Yes. A coaching product can use your Cal.com link, and when you connect Cal.com, booked, moved, and canceled calls show up on the right client and in your Calendar tab.

Does Cal.com have an MCP server?

Yes. Cal.com has an official MCP server at mcp.cal.com that signs in with OAuth, for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. Eden's MCP manages your calendar too: it lists your calls, sets your hours, takes time off, and creates or changes call types, alongside your products, customers, and content.
