Track ad sales with Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, and UTMs

Add your Meta Pixel, Conversions API token, and Google Analytics to your store, and see which ad each sale came from.

·3 min read

In your store, open Integrations → Ad tracking. Paste your Meta Pixel ID or Google Analytics Measurement ID and click Save. Eden then tracks visits, checkouts, and sales. No code. Needs Pro or Studio. Basic store and sales reporting stays on Starter.

Add your Meta Pixel

  1. 01

    Copy your Pixel ID

In Meta Events Manager, open your pixel and copy the long number under its name.

  2. 02

    Paste it into Eden

In your store, open Integrations. Under Track ad sales with Meta, paste it into Pixel ID and click Save.

  3. 03

Add a Conversions API token (recommended)

In Events Manager, open your pixel's Settings and generate a Conversions API access token. Paste it into Conversions API token and click Save. Eden checks it with Meta first.

With the token, Eden also reports each sale to Meta from its server, so sales still count when a buyer blocks trackers or closes the tab. Meta counts each sale once.

To test, paste Meta's code into Test event code. Clear it before your ads go live, or those sales won't count.

Google Analytics

In Google Analytics, open Admin → Data streams, pick your web stream, and copy the Measurement ID (it starts with G-). Paste it into the Google Analytics card in Eden and click Save.

What gets tracked

Both run on your store page, product pages, bundle pages, form pages, and checkout.

A one-click offer accepted after checkout counts as its own purchase.

See which ad each sale came from

Add UTM tags to your ad links. In Meta Ads Manager, paste this into your ad's URL parameters:

utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}

Each sale then shows where it came from:

  • In Customers: open a buyer and look at Came from.
  • On Overview: Where sales come from adds up visits and sales by source.
  • In the sale webhook as attribution.
  • On the payment in your Stripe dashboard.

Send buyers to your own thank-you page

Open a product, go to the Offer step, and under Checkout, paste a link into Thank-you page. Buyers see any after-checkout offer first, get signed in, then land on your page. Their access email still goes out.

Eden adds eden_value, eden_currency, eden_product_id, eden_access_url, and eden_event_id to your link. Link a button to eden_access_url so buyers can open what they bought. If your Pixel is set up in Eden, don't fire Purchase again. If you must, pass eden_event_id as the eventID so Meta counts it once.

Using your own Meta setup instead

Only if you already run your own Conversions API. Leave Eden's token empty, or Meta may count sales twice. Then use the sale webhook:

  1. Catch it in Make (Webhooks → Custom webhook) or Zapier (Webhooks by Zapier → Catch Hook, paid plans).
  2. Keep messages where event is purchase.created and status is paid.
  3. Send a Meta Purchase event: event ID purchaseId, time occurredAt, email buyerEmail, value amountUsd, currency currency, action source website.
