Set a first month price on a membership

Charge less for a membership's first month, like $5 to start, then the full price after that.

·2 min read

Open your membership's Offer step and turn on Set a first month price under First month price. Enter what the first month costs, then save. Every month after that is the full price.

Add a first month price

  1. 01

    Make it a membership

On the Offer step, give the product a monthly or yearly price.

  2. 02

    Turn it on

Under First month price, turn on Set a first month price and enter the First month amount. It must be less than the price and at least $1.

  3. 03

    Save

Click Save. The offer card now shows both prices.

On a yearly membership the setting is called First year price and it lowers the first year.

What buyers see

  • The offer card says "$5 for the first month, then $30/month".
  • Checkout shows the full price crossed out and "$5 first payment, then $30/month".
  • The pay button says "Start membership · $5 today".
  • Renewals charge the full price. Nothing else changes for them.
