Substack is a great home for a newsletter. Eden adds what it doesn't do: sequences that turn free downloaders into buyers, a store for your courses and coaching, and signups that still land in your Substack. And if you ever want it, a paid newsletter for 5%.

You don't have to choose. Substack is free to start and has the best built-in discovery: Notes, recommendations, and an app millions of readers use. Eden sells courses, coaching, calls, and Custom AI, with sales emails that know who bought, and sends your store's signups to Substack automatically. Most creators use both: the newsletter on Substack, the selling on Eden. If Substack's 10% on paid subscriptions starts to hurt, Eden can sell the paid newsletter too, for 5% (2% on Max).
Signups go to your Substack. Add a signup block to your Eden store page, and new readers are added to your Substack automatically. No other app does this.
Pick who goes where. Send newsletter signups to Substack, and buyers and free downloaders to Eden, where sequences sell to them.
Two lists, both clean. Readers get your newsletter. Buyers and downloaders get the emails that sell your next product.
A sequence does the selling. On Pro, someone who claims your free guide gets a few emails a few days apart that sell your course. Anyone who buys leaves it.
Starts on what they did. Buys a product, claims a free one, starts checkout without buying, gets a tag, or a membership ends.
Substack has the network. Notes, recommendations from other writers, and the Substack app bring readers you'd never reach on your own. Eden has nothing like it, which is why many writers keep both.
One store. Courses, coaching, paid calls, downloads, bundles, and a Custom AI people can talk to, all on the same checkout.
Emails that know who bought. Broadcast to readers who haven't bought your course, recover checkouts people didn't finish, and stop pitching buyers.
Substack sells subscriptions. Paid tiers, founding members, and gift subscriptions. Anything else you sell lives on another tool.
5% on Starter and Pro. 2% on Max. Substack takes 10% of every payment, renewals included, for as long as you publish.
Price it your way. Monthly, yearly, or both, a free trial from 1 to 90 days, or a one-time price for lifetime access.
Substack costs nothing up front. No plan fee and an unlimited free list. At small paid revenue, Substack is cheaper. The math is below.

Based on published product information. Features and prices can change.
After the monthly plan and the platform fee. Payment processing comes out on both sides and is left out here.
Below about $900 a month in paid subscriptions, Substack leaves you more. Past that, Eden does, and the gap grows with every reader. On Max the cut drops to 2%. A bigger free list costs more on Eden and nothing on Substack, so count it in.
For the newsletter itself, Substack is hard to beat: free to start, a network that finds you readers, and a public archive. Keep it there.
For everything you sell around it: courses, coaching, downloads, and the sequences that turn free readers into buyers. And for the paid newsletter itself, if 10% has started to hurt.
Use both. Connect Substack in Integrations and new signups from your store are added to your Substack. Nothing to move.
Or import your free list. Export subscribers from Substack as a CSV and upload them in Customers. Eden checks every address and skips ones that would bounce.
Bring your old posts. Upload issues as Markdown files, one per issue, so new subscribers open a full archive.
Paid subscribers start fresh. Eden can't move Substack's paid subscriptions over yet, so readers would subscribe again on Eden.

Substack costs nothing to run a newsletter, so keep it for that. If you move your paid newsletter to Eden, it costs less than Substack's 10% once it passes about $900 a month, and the plan also covers your store.
No. Keep your newsletter on Substack and use Eden for your store and sales emails. Signups from your Eden store page are added to your Substack automatically, and Who goes where lets you send newsletter signups to Substack and buyers and free downloaders to Eden.
10% of every paid subscription, plus Stripe's processing fee (about 2.9% + 30¢) and a 0.7% recurring billing fee. Free newsletters cost nothing.
5% of each payment on Starter and Pro, and 2% on Max, plus Stripe's fee. Publishing needs Starter at $29 a month. Paying subscribers count toward your list size: 250 contacts are included, and bigger lists start at $15 a month for 1,000.
Once your paid subscriptions bring in more than about $900 a month on Starter with 1,000 contacts. Below that, Substack's 10% is less than Eden's plan plus 5%.
Not automatically yet. You can import your free list as a CSV and upload old posts as Markdown, but paid readers would subscribe again on Eden.
No. Eden has no discovery network and no public web archive, so readers find you through your own channels. Many writers keep posting Notes on Substack and connect it to Eden.
Yes. Connect Substack in Your store → Integrations, and new buyers and signups from your Eden store are added to your Substack automatically through the Eden desktop app or browser extension.
Sell your courses, coaching, and downloads, with signups that still land in Substack.
