Patreon now takes 10% from new creators. Eden takes 5% plus a plan from $29, and gives your members a chat with channels, a Library (Eden's forum) for posts worth keeping, events, and apps on iOS and Android, next to your store, courses, coaching, and email.

Patreon is free to start, takes 10% from creators who published after August 4, 2025, and has an app full of fans who already pay there. Its community is posts plus up to 10 chats. Eden gives your members a chat with channels, a Library, events, and member apps, and runs your store, courses, coaching, and email, from $29 a month plus 5%. Card processing comes on top on both. Below about $580 a month, Patreon costs less. Pick Eden if your memberships are a real business.
A community is a store product. Free, monthly, yearly, or included with your course, sold from your own page with the same checkout as everything else.
Courses, coaching, and calls. Sell a course or a cohort with the community included, or 1:1 coaching and paid calls, from the same store.
Email you can send anywhere. Broadcasts on Starter, sequences on Pro, and a sequence that starts when someone joins. Your list works outside any app.
Channels that show what's new. Each channel shows its last message, and you set the order. Members see where the talk is before they tap.
Threads with their own inbox. Reply in a thread so the main chat stays readable. Every thread someone is in waits in one inbox.
Voice notes, photos, forwarding. Members send voice notes and photo grids, @mention each other, and forward a good message to another channel.
A Library next to the chat. Guides, breakdowns, and wins in categories you set, with pinned posts, covers, and video. Members start their own posts in the categories you open.
Sync to calendar. Members add every event to their own calendar once, and it stays current when you move or cancel one.
Rooms for your top tier. Make a channel only buyers of one product can see, or only members you tag VIP.
Members join on your page. People buy on the web at the price you set. The Eden app never sells inside it, so Apple takes no cut.
Native apps, free for members. Members chat, read the Library, and see events in the Eden app on iOS and Android.
A welcome on day one. New members see your rules and your welcome the first time they open the community, and get a welcome email.

Pick Patreon if you make less than about $600 a month, if new fans find you through Patreon, or if you're on an older, lower rate you'd lose by leaving. Its app and audience are real advantages.
Pick Eden if your memberships are a real business. You pay half the platform fee, members get a chat, a Library, and events, and your store, courses, and email run on one plan.
Monthly plans plus platform fees on sales. Payment processing comes out on both sides and is left out here.
Below about $580 a month, Patreon's 10% costs less than Eden Starter. Past that, Eden costs less: at $5,000 a month you keep about $220 more. Card processing comes out on both sides. On an older Patreon rate, your numbers may differ.
Import your members. Export your member list from Patreon, import it in Customers, and pick your community. Everyone on the list gets in without paying again.
Or send one link. Post your community's join link to your patrons. Members who already have access go straight in; everyone else lands on the page to join.
Paid members subscribe again. Patreon's memberships don't move over, so paying members start a new membership on Eden, paid to your own Stripe.
