Deep Synthesis — connect everything you've saved

When it kicks in

Deep Synthesis is for questions that span many items — the ones that would otherwise mean opening a dozen notes yourself:

• "What have I saved about pricing psychology?"
• "Connect my notes on focus and deep work — what's the through-line?"
• "Synthesize my research on newsletter growth. Where do my sources disagree?"

Ask a question like that and the chat spins the agent off automatically. To force it, ask by name ("Run Deep Synthesis on my notes about X") — or click the telescope icon next to the + button in the composer and pick Deep Synthesis. That arms it for your next message only, and the button turns green while it is armed.

Small lookups (one note, one search) stay in the normal chat. Deep Synthesis is for when the answer lives across many items.

What happens during a run

The same live card as Deep Social appears in the chat, showing each library search, each item the agent reads, and each insight it writes down. Runs take about one to four minutes depending on how thorough you ask it to be, and they run inside the current turn — the report lands directly in the conversation.

The heavy reading happens in the agent's own private workspace. Your chat never fills up with raw note text or PDF pages; only the distilled report enters the conversation.

What the report looks like

• Insights — claims about what your material says, each backed by the items behind it.
• Verbatim excerpts — exact passages copied from your notes and saved items. The system rejects any excerpt that doesn't match the source, so quotes are never paraphrased or invented.
• Contradictions and gaps — where your sources disagree, and an honest note about what the agent could NOT find. If your library has nothing on the topic, it says so rather than making something up.
• Receipts — every insight links to the items behind it. Tap a link to open the note, PDF, or saved post it came from.

When the run finishes, the card offers "Everything it read" — the full list of items the agent scanned. Tap any row to open that item.

Tips for better runs

• Name the tension you're looking for. "Where do my saved sources disagree about X?" produces sharper insights than "summarize my notes on X".
• Follow up in the chat. The report is raw material. Ask "turn insight 2 into a post outline", "which of these ideas have I not written about yet?", or "read the full note behind that excerpt".
• It reads what you've saved, not the web. Deep Synthesis only sees your library. For market research across social platforms, use Deep Social — the two pair well: sweep the market with one, then check what you've already collected with the other.
