How to find ad inspiration for ecommerce, SaaS, and coaching

Where to find proven ad inspiration by niche: the sources, the signals that separate winners from noise, and swipe-worthy patterns for ecommerce, SaaS, and coaches.

Ad inspiration is a sourcing problem, not a creativity problem. The winning ads in your niche are public: Meta publishes every active ad, TikTok publishes its top performers with metrics, and the brands spending the most are telling you what converts through what they keep running. The method is the same everywhere (find proven ads, extract the mechanic, adapt it), but what "proven" looks like differs by niche. Here is the method, then the specifics for ecommerce, SaaS, and coaching.

Full disclosure: we make Eden, whose ad feed is organized by niche for exactly this. Every source below is also usable free.

The method, in three moves

1. Source from evidence, not from your feed. Your feed shows ads targeted at you, which is a biased sample. Go where the proof is: long-running ads in the Meta Ad Library (age is the performance data), TikTok's Creative Center top ads (real CTR and retention curves), and the accounts of your niche's biggest spenders via a competitor audit. Eden's ads feed collapses this step: 100,000+ Meta and TikTok ads filterable by niche, sorted by longest running or rising.

2. Extract the mechanic, not the ad. An ad is an execution of a transferable pattern: a hook mechanic, an offer frame, a proof structure. Write the pattern down in one line ("objection named in first two seconds, then demo"). The line is what transfers to your product; the execution is what gets you accused of copying.

3. Steal across niches. The best hooks migrate. A supplement brand's before/after structure becomes a SaaS dashboard before/after; a coaching testimonial format becomes an ecommerce review ad. Ads from outside your niche are the ones your audience has not developed blindness to, which is why a good swipe file always has an out-of-niche section.

Ecommerce and DTC

The most crowded ad ecosystem, which means the proven layer is deep and the patterns rotate fast.

Where to look: your category's biggest spenders on Meta (their oldest ads are a masterclass in what converts at scale), TikTok top ads in your category (ecommerce dominates the gallery), and the creator pages your competitors whitelist, which often outperform the brand's own ads.

Swipe-worthy patterns to collect: UGC testimonials with a specific complaint resolved in the first line; us-vs-them statics naming the old solution; founder story ads for premium positioning; bundle and offer math made visual; the "3 reasons" listicle video. Watch the variation counts: when a DTC brand runs one creative in many variations, the changing element (usually the hook line or the thumbnail frame) is their live lesson in what moves the metric.

SaaS and B2B tools

Softer spend, longer consideration, and the inspiration hides in more places than Meta.

Where to look: Meta for the retargeting and demo-generation layer, but add the LinkedIn Ad Library (searchable by company, and B2B brands say the quiet part there: pricing angles, competitor comparisons, objection handling) and Google's Transparency Center for competitors' YouTube ads. The full library circuit covers all three.

Swipe-worthy patterns: the pain-naming hook ("your CRM is where deals go to die"); the two-second product demo loop that shows the aha moment silently; comparison ads that name the incumbent; social proof by logo wall versus by individual quote (niches settle on one; test the other); free-tool and template offers as the click.

Coaching, courses, and creators

The niche where the person is the product, so inspiration is as much about positioning as creative.

Where to look: Meta ads from the biggest names in your topic (education and coaching is a heavily tracked category in Eden's feed), plus their organic content, since coaching ads are often organic posts that worked, promoted. This is where researching ads and organic side by side pays: the boundary is thin, and a proven organic hook is a pre-tested ad hook. Eden puts both in one workspace, with organic outliers across seven platforms next to the ad feed.

Swipe-worthy patterns: the credibility-first hook (result, then method); the "I did X in Y days" specificity frame; long-copy ads that read like posts (the highest-performing coaching ads are often 500+ words); the webinar and free-training offer ladder; client-voice testimonials cut to a single transformation sentence.

Turning inspiration into your ad

Inspiration hoarded is inspiration wasted. The loop that closes it: save the ad with its context, write the one-line mechanic, then draft your version while the source is open next to you. In Eden, that is one motion: boost any saved ad into a chat that already carries its creative, copy, and run history, and ask for a reverse-engineer, an ad brief for your product, or ten hooks using its mechanic. The draft lands next to the research that produced it.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find ad inspiration for free?

The Meta Ad Library (every active ad, searchable by brand or keyword), TikTok Creative Center (top ads with real metrics), the LinkedIn Ad Library for B2B, and Google's Ads Transparency Center for YouTube. Eden's ads feed is also free to browse and adds ranking by run time.

How do I know if an ad is actually good and not just pretty?

Evidence: months of run time on Meta, high variation counts, or real CTR on TikTok. An award-worthy ad that ran two weeks taught its brand a lesson; a plain ad that ran six months is the lesson.

Is it OK to copy an ad I found?

Copy the mechanic, never the execution. One-to-one copies are legally risky, obvious to audiences, and fragile, since the mechanic is what made it work and the mechanic is free.

How many ads should I study before making one?

Ten proven ads in your niche is enough to see the patterns repeat, which is the signal you have found the real ones. Past thirty you are procrastinating; go draft.

Start where the proof is: create a free Eden account, open the ads feed, pick your niche, and sort by longest running. The first screen is your niche's proven playbook.
