Team and private boards

The split appears automatically as soon as a second member joins (or an invite is pending). Solo workspaces keep the single Boards list — there's nothing to set up.

Where things land

• New boards start private. A board you create lands in your Private section, so nothing is shared by accident.
• The exception: a board created inside a folder that lives in Team lands in Team.
• On mobile, the create sheet has a Team / Private picker so you choose up front.

Moving between Team and Private

Right-click a board (or long-press on mobile) and choose Move to Team or Move to Private — it's the first item in the menu. The same option is in the board's ⋯ menu when you have it open.

Folders move too: right-click a folder and the whole folder — sub-folders and every board inside — switches sections together.

A few rules keep this safe:

• You can move boards you created. The workspace owner can move anything.
• Moving something into Team requires edit access on the Team section.
• A member can only move a folder if every board in it is their own.

What happens to the items

Items follow their boards. Save a note or link to a Team board and your teammates can see it; when its last Team placement is removed, it goes back to private. There is no separate per-item switch to manage.

Your Library stays personal: you see your own saves plus whatever is shared with you, and teammates never see your private items. To slice the Library by this, open Filter and pick Personal or Team.

Member access levels

Each member has a default access level over the Team section:

• Can edit — add to and change Team boards.
• Can view — open and read Team boards, but not change them.

You set it when inviting, and change it later in Settings → Members. For exceptions, open a Team board's Share panel — every member is listed there, and you can make one person a viewer on that board (or an editor, if their default is view).

Per-board access and hidden boards

You can go more granular than the workspace default — board by board, member by member:

• Right-click a Team board (or folder) in the sidebar and choose Manage access. Every member is listed with a picker: Can edit, Can view, or Hidden.
• Hidden means the board doesn't exist for that member — it disappears from their sidebar, Library, and search, and they can't open it. Owners are never hidden from anything.
• Folder access applies to the whole folder — every board inside now, and any board dragged in later, picks up the folder's setting. Drag a board out and it keeps the access it had until you change it.
• In Settings → Members, click Board access next to a member to see and change their access across all Team boards and folders in one place.
• Only the workspace owner (or, for a single board, the person who created it) can change other members' access.

When inviting someone, the invite row has a board picker with two groups. Team boards are all checked by default — uncheck any board or folder to hide it from the person you're inviting before they even join. Your private boards lets you share existing boards at the same time: checked boards move to your Team space when the invite is sent (visible to everyone in the workspace, not just the invitee). If your Team section is still empty — a workspace inviting its very first teammate — your private boards start checked so your new teammate doesn't land in an empty workspace; uncheck anything you want to keep to yourself.

If your teammates can't see any boards (the Team section is empty), the sidebar shows Choose boards to share under the Team Boards header. It opens the same picker so you can move boards to Team in one step.

Chats, pins, and sidebar order

• New chats are personal. Use the chat's menu to share one with the team, or make it personal again.
• Pins are per person. Pinning a board to the top of your sidebar doesn't move it for anyone else.
• Arrange your sidebar your way. Drag the Private Boards, Shared with me, or Team Boards header onto another to reorder the sections. That order is yours alone.
