Sharing a board with a collaborator

This article covers generating a share link, inviting people, what collaborators see, and how to use boards as templates.

How to share a board

   Open the board you want to share

   Sharing applies to one board at a time. There is no all-at-once share toggle.

   Click Share in the top right

   The share panel opens with the link and people options.

   Pick who gets in

   Under General access, switch the board to "Anyone can view" for an open, read-only link, or "Anyone can comment" to also let signed-in readers leave comments on the board and the items on it (see comments). Or invite specific people by email under People with access, with view or edit per person — see inviting people.

   Copy the link

   Paste it into Slack, an email, a doc, a course module, or anywhere else. Invited people also get an email from Eden.

Link access vs. invited people

The two ways to share, in plain terms:

• Anyone with the link: read-only. Anyone who has the link can read every item on the board and open each one. No account needed. They cannot change anything. With "Anyone can comment", signed-in readers can also comment, pin comments on a freeform board, and comment on the items on it, but still not change anything.
• Invited people: per-person access by email. Each person can be a viewer or an editor. Editors can add, move, and edit items on the board.

Neither lets a collaborator delete the board itself or re-share it. Only you and your workspace members can.

What collaborators see

When someone opens a shared board, they see:

• Every item on the board, in the same order you have it.
• Every section the board has, with the same items in each.
• The board's chat, if it has one. Conversations are shared, so a teammate can pick up where you left off.

What they do not see:

• Any other boards you own. Sharing one board does not expose the rest.
• Your sidebar layout. They have their own spaces and pinned boards.
• Your Discover settings.

Boards as templates

Both link types are duplicatable. The receiver clicks "Duplicate" and the board copies into their own account as their own working copy. The original is untouched. They can rename, reshape, or delete their copy without it ever touching yours.

That makes boards a natural shape for templates. A few shapes that travel well:

• A YouTube launch board with sections for Title ideas, Hooks, Scripts, Thumbnails, B-roll references.
• A newsletter intake board with sections for Story bank, Outlines, Drafts, Past issues.
• A niche swipe file with the top performing posts you have already curated for a particular topic.
• A client onboarding board with sections for Brand assets, Approved posts, Drafts, Sent invoices.
