Trash and restoring items

Restore something

1. 01

   Open Trash

   Click your workspace name in the sidebar to open the menu, then click the trash icon at the bottom, next to your email.

   Find it

   Type in Search items in Trash to filter by title. Newest deletions are at the top.

   Restore it

   Click the Restore icon on the right of the row.

Remove vs. delete

Items on a board also live in your Library. How you remove one decides where it goes.

Deleting a board

The Delete Board dialog has a box: Also move this board's items to Trash. It's off by default. Items that are also on another board stay in your Library either way.

Tick Don't ask again to skip the dialog next time. From then on, deleting a board also moves its items to Trash. To get the dialog back, turn on Confirm before deleting boards in Settings → Preferences.

Deleted chats

When you delete a chat, it goes to Trash too. Restore it from its row like any item. Delete permanently and Empty Trash remove chats for good as well.

Delete for good

• Click the Delete permanently icon on a row, then Yes. Delete this item.
• Or click Empty Trash at the bottom, then Yes. Delete all items.
• This can't be undone.

Trash also empties itself. Items are deleted for good after 7 days on Free, 30 on Personal, Personal Plus, and Starter, 60 on Pro, and 90 on Max. See Trash and version retention.
