Recovering a deleted item

Try these in order. Stop at the first one that works.

1. Undo it

Press ⌘ Z right away. It only reaches your most recent action on the board. If nothing happens, click an empty spot on the board and try again.

2. Check your Library

Pressing Backspace on a card, or choosing Remove from board, only takes it off that board. It's still in your Library. Find it there and add it back.

3. Restore it from Trash

   Open Trash

   Click your name at the bottom left of the sidebar, then Trash.

   Find it

   Type in Search items in Trash. Newest deletions are at the top.

   Restore it

   Click the Restore icon on its row. It goes back where it was.

Trash keeps items for 7 to 90 days, depending on your plan. See Trash and version retention.

4. Lost text inside a note? Use version history

If the note is still there but its text is wrong, open the note's ⋯ menu and pick Version history. Click a version, then Restore version. Boards have version history too, for their layout. See Version history.

If the note is in Trash, restore it first, then open its history.

When it can't come back

• You clicked Delete permanently or Empty Trash. Its versions are deleted too.
• It sat in Trash past your plan's window.
