Sync your Instagram saves
Bring your saved Instagram posts, reels, and Saved collections into your Eden Library, read from your own signed-in session.
Your Instagram saves are a swipe file you already built. Syncing them pulls every saved post, reel, and the Saved collections you choose into your Library, where you can search them, tag them, and drop them onto boards.
Most people save hundreds of posts on Instagram and never look at them again, because Instagram gives you no way to search them. Connecting your saves fixes that: they land in your Library as normal cards, with the caption searchable and the creator attached.
How it works
Instagram has no way for an app like Eden to read your saves on its own. So Eden reads them the only way anyone can: from your own signed-in session, on your own device.
That means one of two apps does the reading:
- The Eden desktop app keeps its own signed-in Instagram window and reads your saves natively.
- The Eden Chrome extension opens a hidden Instagram tab in your browser and reads them there.
Turn it on
- 01
Open Settings → Integrations
Find the Instagram Saves card.
- 02
Sign in to Instagram
On desktop, click Sign in to Instagram and log in once in the window Eden opens. In Chrome, just make sure you're already signed in to Instagram in the same browser profile.
- 03
Click Enable Instagram saves
Eden reads your collection list and opens the collection picker before importing anything.
- 04
Choose what gets synced
Pick All saved posts to include everything (including saves you haven't organized), or Selected collections to choose only the folders you want. Click Connect & sync to start the first import. A large backlog can take a few runs to finish.
What you get
- Every chosen post, reel, and carousel as a Library card, with the caption as searchable text.
- The collections you sync become tags. A post you filed under "Hooks" on Instagram arrives tagged Hooks in Eden, so you can filter to it anywhere tags work. Eden reuses a tag you already have, or creates it.
- The creator attached, so you can jump from a saved post to everything else you've saved from that person.
Filter to just these cards from the Source menu in your Library — pick Instagram Saves. See filtering your Library for the rest of the menu, and tagging items for how tags work everywhere else.
If you keep everything in Instagram's single "All Posts" and never made named collections, there is nothing to turn into tags — but Eden still sorts your saves by topic on its own, under the Topics filter.
How often it syncs
New saves sync about once a day, while Eden desktop or Chrome is running and signed in to Instagram. Click Sync now on the card any time to pull them immediately.
Instagram limits how fast anything can read your saves, so a big first import is paced deliberately and may finish across a few runs. The card tells you when that happens — it's not an error, and nothing is lost.
Plans
Instagram saves sync is available on Personal and above, like the other Library syncs. On Free, you'll see a prompt to upgrade.
Managing the connection
Manage it from Settings → Integrations on the Instagram Saves card. Click Manage collections to switch between all saves and particular collections. Adding a collection runs a full backfill so its older saves can come across. Removing one stops future syncing but leaves anything already in your Library untouched.
New Instagram collections are included automatically in All saved posts mode. In Selected collections mode, return to Manage collections when you want to include a collection you created later.
You can also sync manually or disconnect from the same card.
Disconnecting moves the imported saves to Trash, where you can restore them. Turning the sync back on re-imports them.
If it stops working
If the card says you need to sign in, your Instagram session expired. Sign in again — on desktop through the Sign in to Instagram button, in Chrome by logging back in to Instagram normally — and the next sync picks up where it left off. Your already-imported saves stay put.
The Library: everything you've saved, in one place
The Library is your workspace-wide home for every link, PDF, image, note, saved post, and highlight. Here is how it works and how it relates to boards.
Connect your Kindle highlights
Sync your Kindle book highlights into Eden through the Chrome extension, no Readwise needed, and turn them into searchable quote cards.
Filtering and browsing your Library
Narrow your Library by type, source, topic, tags, or date, save named views, group items by source, and sort the grid.
Tagging items with workspace tags
Create colored tags shared across your workspace, apply them to notes, links, PDFs, and posts from the Library or a board, tag at save time, and filter your Library by tag.
Eden Chrome extension quick start guide
Install the Eden Chrome extension, connect your account, choose a workspace, and save your first page or post to a board.
Reader for social posts and videos
Read YouTube transcripts and full X, Threads, Substack, and LinkedIn posts as clean, highlightable documents inside Eden, no tab-switching required.
