Connecting items (backlinks)
Link any item in Eden to any other item, like a note to a PDF or a highlight to a link, and see the connection from both sides to build a web of context.
Eden lets you link any item to any other item: a note to a PDF, a highlight to a link, a card to a board. Connections render both ways, so once you link two items you can follow the thread from either side. It's how a highlight stays tied to its source and a draft stays tied to the research behind it.
Connections turn a pile of saved items into a web of context. When items are linked, you can trace how they relate, and so can Eden chat, which follows the same connections to bring back the material around whatever you're working on.
Three ways to connect items
You can link items by hand, by mentioning them, or by accepting a suggestion Eden surfaces. All three create the same kind of connection, and it always shows up on both items.

Connect manually
Every item has a Connections section. Click + Connect and pick the item you want to link. There's no typing involved, so this works for items that have no text of their own, like link cards, PDFs, and images. It's the primary path on mobile too.

@-mention another item
Inside a note or card, type @ and pick another item. Every mention automatically becomes a connection, so writing "see @Pricing research" links the two items as you write.

Accept a suggestion
Eden surfaces "similar items" from your Library and offers them as one-tap suggestions. Accepting one creates a real, stored connection. Suggestions are never added silently; nothing links until you say so.
Why it's worth connecting things
A connected Library compounds. A highlight links to the article it came from. A draft links to the notes and highlights you pulled it from. A PDF links to the board where you're using it. Over time you get a map of your own thinking that you can walk in either direction.
It pays off in chat too. When you chat with a board or an item, Eden follows these connections to gather the surrounding context, so it works from the full web of related material instead of one item in isolation.
