Reader for social posts and videos
Read YouTube transcripts and full X, Threads, Substack, and LinkedIn posts as clean, highlightable documents inside Eden, no tab-switching required.
Reader view isn't just for articles. Save a YouTube video or a social post and Eden can render it as a clean, readable document you can sit with and highlight.
Videos and social threads carry some of the best material a creator can study, but they're built for scrolling, not reading. Eden's reader surfaces turn them into text you can actually work through.
The YouTube transcript reader
Save a YouTube video and you can open its transcript as a clean, formatted document. Instead of scrubbing the timeline, you read the whole talk as prose: paragraphs, comfortable spacing, and the same editorial type as the rest of Reader.
The video sits in a player above the text, so you can read and watch together. Use the small chevron under it to collapse the player when you only want the words.
Reading along while it plays
Press play and an Auto-scroll button appears at the bottom of the reader. Turn it on and the transcript follows the video: the paragraph being spoken is marked and kept in view, so you can listen and highlight the line you just heard without hunting for it.
- Scroll the transcript yourself at any time and Eden hands control back to you: it stops chasing the video, and Auto-scroll reappears so you can re-engage whenever you want.
- Highlight passage replaces the button while auto-scroll is on. It saves the paragraph being spoken right now, in one tap.
- Jump to a spot in the video by hovering (or tapping) a paragraph and clicking its 1:23 timestamp chip. The player seeks there and the page stays where you are.
- Skip around in the player while you're reading somewhere else and the button becomes Jump to 12:30. Tap it and the transcript scrolls to the paragraph the video landed on, with auto-scroll on from there.
Everything else about Reader still applies: select any passage to highlight it, use the contents menu to jump between sections, and pick up where you left off next time.
The social reader
The social reader renders the full text of a post or thread in the same clean surface, with select-to-highlight built in. It works for:
- X articles and long-form X posts
- Twitter and Threads threads, stitched into one continuous read
- Substack posts
- Long LinkedIn posts
Everything lands as one readable document, so a ten-tweet thread reads top to bottom without the reply chrome getting in the way.

Turning what you read into material
Everything you highlight here behaves like any other Eden highlight: it becomes an item you can place on boards, connect to related items, search, and pull into chat. So studying a competitor's thread or a long talk directly stocks your swipe file.
