Reading saved articles in Eden

Open any saved link or newsletter in Eden's clean reader view, a distraction-free reading surface that turns read-it-later into fuel for creation.

·3 min read

When you save a link or an email newsletter to Eden, you can read it inside Eden. Reader view strips the page down to the article itself, so you never have to bounce back to the browser.

The web is noisy. Cookie banners, sidebars, popups, and ads all fight for attention while you're trying to read. Reader view removes the clutter and gives you the article on a clean page: the title, the byline, and the site name, laid out in editorial typography that's comfortable to sit with.

Open reader view

Every reader-capable item has a book icon in the top-right of its chrome. That icon is the single, consistent way into Reader across Eden.

  1. 01

Open a saved link or newsletter

Click a saved web link or an email-in newsletter to open it. Anything you've saved with a readable article behind it qualifies.

  2. 02

    Click the book icon

In the top-right of the item, click the book icon. Eden loads the article into the reader surface: title, byline, and site name up top, then the body text in clean type.

  3. 03

Exit back to the normal view

Click the book icon again to close Reader and return to the item's standard view whenever you want the original layout back.

Light and dark, tuned for reading

Reader view follows your theme, so it looks right in both light and dark mode. The typography is set for long reads: generous line spacing, a comfortable measure, and clear headings, so a 2,000-word essay reads as easily as a short post.

Reading as fuel for creation

Reader view is where read-it-later stops being a graveyard. As you read, you can highlight the lines that matter, and those highlights become items you can put on boards, connect to other items, search, and pull into chat. So a reading session doesn't just clear your queue; it feeds your next piece of writing.

To learn how selecting text works and where your highlights go, read highlighting while reading.
