Reading PDFs in Eden
Save a PDF and read it as a reflowed, comfortable document in Eden, with a premium vision reader that keeps figures and images inline on Personal Plus.
PDFs you save to Eden don't have to stay locked in a rigid page viewer. Eden reflows them into a readable document, with headings and paragraphs laid out for comfortable reading and highlighting.
A raw PDF is built for print, not screens: fixed page sizes, tiny type, and columns you have to pinch and pan across. Eden's reader reflows that content into a single readable flow, so a research paper or a saved report reads like an article, and you can highlight straight from it.
Two readers, by plan
Eden reflows PDFs at two levels of fidelity, and which one you get depends on your plan.
- Basic reflow (text) is available on Free and Personal. Eden pulls the text out of the PDF and lays it out cleanly: headings, paragraphs, and comfortable typography. Figures and images aren't carried into the reflowed view, so this is best for text-heavy documents.
- The premium reader is available on Personal Plus and above. It uses AI vision to preserve the document's structure and keeps figures and images inline, in reading order, so charts, diagrams, and screenshots stay where they belong alongside the text.
Open a PDF in the reader

Save or open a PDF
Drag a PDF onto a board to upload it, or open one you've already saved. It shows up as a card in your Library.

Click the book icon
In the top-right of the item, click the book icon to open the reflowed reader. Eden lays the document out for comfortable reading in your current theme.

Read and highlight
Select any passage to highlight it. Click the book icon again to exit the reader.
The exact-layout viewer is still there
Sometimes you need the page exactly as it was designed: a form, a slide deck, a document where the precise layout matters. The standard page viewer still exists for that, so you can flip between a comfortable read and the original layout whenever you need to.
Highlights work the same either way
Both readers feed the same highlighting surface. Whatever you select becomes an item you can place on boards, connect to related items, search, and pull into chat, so a dense report turns into reusable raw material. For the details, read highlighting while reading.
