Sell a course

Sell lessons buyers read in order, with an AI that coaches them on each one, or on their own.

·4 min read

A course is lessons in order, with a checkmark on each one a buyer finishes. Start in Your store → Products → New product → Course. Pick Custom AI instead if you want an AI that coaches on each lesson.

Set it up

  1. 01

    Create the product

Open your store, go to Products, click New product, and pick Course. Or right-click a document, choose Sell this, then New course.

  2. 02

    Name and price it

On the Offer step, set the Title, Tagline, and Price in USD. Use 0 for free.

  3. 03

    Add the lessons

On the Lessons step, click Add. Group lessons with Add section. Drag to reorder. Inside a lesson, the ‹ › arrows at the top open the previous or next lesson.

  4. 04

    Write the welcome page

Fill in the Welcome page card at the top. Buyers see it first.

  5. 05

    Publish

Fill in the Page step, then finish the checklist on Publish.

With an AI or on its own

Switch any time with Product type on the Offer step.

Custom AIYes. The AI knows which lesson is open.Offer, Knowledge, Configure, Page, PublishBuyers can read

The AI version is the better pick when you would happily answer buyer questions yourself. It can explain the open lesson, run the exercise, and check their work.

Add a lesson video

Open a lesson and click Embed video, then paste a YouTube, Loom, Tella, Descript, Vimeo, or Wistia link. To use a file instead, click Upload video. If the course has an AI, paste the transcript under the video so the AI can use it.

Add audio to a lesson

Open a lesson and click Upload audio under the title. Or type /audio anywhere in the lesson, or drag an audio file in. MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, and FLAC work. It shows up as a player with the file name as its title.

  • Click play. Drag across the bars to skip around.
  • Click 1x to change the speed: 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, or 2x.
  • Right-click the player to Download or Delete it.
  • Buyers get the same player in the lesson, on the web and in the Eden iPhone and Android apps.
  • It works in any Eden document, not only lessons. Your plan's upload limit sets the biggest file.

What your buyer sees

  • Your welcome page first.
  • Sections and lessons on the left, with a checkmark on each finished one.
  • A lesson checks off when they open it. Done at the top unticks it.
  • On a Custom AI course, the chat sits beside the lesson.
  • A Notebook for their own notes, kept with the product.
  • The same course on the Eden iPhone and Android apps.

Good to know

  • Building products starts on the $5 Discover plan (on Free you can look around the store). Publishing needs Starter, Pro, or Max.
  • The Publish checklist needs a name, a price, a page description, a support email, and Stripe for a paid product. A course with no AI also needs at least one lesson.
  • Publishing freezes a copy. Buyers get later edits only when you click Publish update.
  • Put templates and checklists in Resources. They don't count toward progress.
  • For dated runs with live calls, see Run a cohort. To charge monthly, see Sell a membership.
  • Eden chat, The Product Builder, and the Eden MCP build courses with an AI by default. Say "no AI" to get a plain course.
