Every app except n8n, Zapier, and Make signs in the same way: a browser window opens, you sign in to Eden, and you click Connect Eden. The app never sees your password.

Claude

   Click Connect Claude

   In Eden, go to Settings → MCP. Claude opens its Connectors page with Eden filled in. Confirm it.

   Sign in to Eden

   Sign in and click Connect Eden.

3. 03

   Turn Eden on in a chat

   In a new chat, turn Eden on under the tools icon in the composer.

Works in Claude on the web and the desktop app.

ChatGPT

Most people should add the Eden plugin from ChatGPT's plugin listing. It covers research, saving, and scheduling.

For the full Eden toolset (notes, boards, store, Custom AIs, and more), add Eden as a custom MCP server instead. Needs a paid ChatGPT plan. In Settings → MCP, click Show setup steps next to ChatGPT, then Copy URL.

On the web

1. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click Add, and choose Add custom MCP server.
2. Name it Eden. Under Connection, keep Server URL and paste the URL. Leave Authentication on OAuth.
3. Tick I understand and want to continue and click Create as a plugin.
4. Click Continue to Eden, sign in, and click Connect Eden.
5. In a new chat, type @ and pick Eden.

In the desktop app

1. Open Settings → Plugins and pick the MCPs tab.
2. Click Add server, name it Eden, choose Streamable HTTP, and paste the URL.
3. Save, then click Authenticate on the Eden row and sign in.

Cursor

Click Connect Cursor in Settings → MCP. Cursor opens and offers to add Eden. Confirm, then sign in. Eden works in Composer and the chat sidebar.

Claude Code

Run this once, then sign in when Claude Code asks:

Codex

Run these, sign in in the browser, then quit and reopen Codex so it loads the tools:

Any other MCP app

Add a remote MCP server with the URL https://mcp.eden.so/mcp, transport Streamable HTTP (or HTTP), and OAuth sign-in. Click Copy server URL under Advanced in Settings → MCP. For config files, see install from the command line.

Make a connection read-only

New connections get read and write access. That lets the app save links, edit notes, manage boards, and schedule posts. No connection can permanently delete anything or change who you follow.

To limit it, find the app in Settings → MCP and switch it from Read & write to Read-only. It takes effect on the app's next tool call. No reconnect needed.

To turn off single tools, open Tool permissions on the same page. Allow write tools switches off every tool that changes things at once.

Only use Eden for one job? Under Quick setup, pick Research or Store to keep just those tools on. Fewer tools means less for your app to read each session. Everything turns them all back on.

Pick which workspace it uses

If you belong to more than one workspace, set Default workspace for connected assistants in Settings → MCP. Clicking Connect Claude or Connect Cursor also sets the workspace you're in as the default.

Disconnect or reconnect

• Click Revoke next to the app in Settings → MCP. Access stops right away.
• Claude: after revoking, Eden usually stays in Claude under Not connected. Click Manage in Claude, open Eden there, and sign in again. Don't click Connect Claude while it's listed, or you'll get "A server with this URL already exists."
• ChatGPT: open Eden under Settings → Plugins and click Uninstall before adding it again, so you don't end up with two.

If something's not working

• The app says it can't see Eden. Check Eden is turned on in that chat, then start a new chat.
• New tools are missing. See get the latest tools.
• A new creator has little data. Eden starts collecting their posts the first time you ask. Ask again in a few minutes.
