Waive the 14-day right to cancel (UK and EU)

Make buyers tick "I want access right away" at checkout, so they give up their 14-day right to cancel.

·2 min read

Open a paid product's Offer step and turn on Ask buyers to waive the 14-day right to cancel. Buyers must tick a box above Pay that says they want access right away and lose their 14-day right to cancel. Eden saves their tick with the order.

Why you might need it

UK and EU rules give buyers of digital products 14 days to cancel. They lose that right only if, before access begins, they ask for access right away and say they know they lose it. If you sell to UK or EU buyers, this box is how they say it. Most sellers outside the UK and EU can leave it off. Need buyers to agree to your own Terms too? See Make buyers agree to your terms at checkout.

Turn it on

  1. 01

    Open the Offer step

In your store, go to Products, open a paid product, and find Checkout.

  2. 02

    Flip the switch

Turn on Ask buyers to waive the 14-day right to cancel, then save.

  3. 03

    Try it

Click Test checkout to see the box the way buyers do.

What buyers see

  • A box above Pay that reads: "I want access right away. I understand I lose my 14-day right to cancel once access begins."
  • Pay stays off until they tick it. It's never ticked for them.
  • Every buyer sees it, wherever they live.
  • Pay without saving my card is hidden on this product, since Stripe's own page has no place for the box.
  • The box shows in your store's language.

Where the tick is saved

Each purchase stores the time the buyer ticked and the exact wording they saw. The buyer's "your purchase is ready" email repeats it, which is the written confirmation the rules ask for.
