Personalizing Eden AI

Where to find it

Open Settings → AI → Personalization. Text fields save automatically when you click away from them, and a writing-voice selection saves as soon as you choose it. There's no page-level save button.

Your name, About you, and custom instructions follow your account: fill them in once and every workspace you belong to uses them. Your writing voice is personal too — it changes only your chats — but Eden can apply it only inside the workspace that contains the chosen Custom AI.

What should Eden call you?

Your name or nickname. The AI uses it when addressing you, the way a colleague would. This can be different from your display name (the one shown in the app under Settings → Profile). Display name is how people see you; this is how the AI talks to you.

About you and your work

A short description of who you are, what you do, and who you help: your business, your audience, your goals, in your own words. The AI keeps it in mind in every conversation, so a request like "draft a post about pricing" already knows whose pricing, for which audience.

A useful blurb answers three questions:

• What do you do? "I run a coaching business for first-time founders."
• Who do you help? "Solo creators trying to go full-time."
• What are you working toward? "Growing my newsletter to 50k subscribers."

Custom instructions

Standing instructions for how the AI should respond in every chat: tone, format, things to always or never do. Examples:

• "Keep replies concise. No filler."
• "When I ask for content ideas, always give me at least three options."
• "Never use hashtags in anything you write for me."
• "Explain technical things in plain language."

Your writing voice

The bottom of the page holds your writing voice. Pick one of your hand-built Custom AIs and its instructions are layered into every chat you start in that workspace as style guidance, including plain chats and chats running other Custom AIs. It's off by default, one Custom AI holds the role at a time, and task instructions always take priority over the voice.

Like the rest of this page, the voice is yours alone: it changes how the AI writes for you, not for anyone else in the workspace. You can also turn it on from the Custom AI itself under Configure → Your writing voice.

Don't have a voice Custom AI yet? Click Build a voice to create one in a guided chat from writing samples or a creator you admire. How this works with Custom AIs and skills

Personalization applies to every chat, including chats with a Custom AI or an active skill. Your name and the facts about you always hold. If a Custom AI's own persona conflicts with your custom instructions on tone or voice, the Custom AI wins. That's what you built it for. Think of it in layers: personalization is who you are, a Custom AI is who it is, and a skill is how to do one specific job.

Personalization is also separate from memories, the facts the AI saves as you work together over time. Personalization is the profile you write deliberately; both apply to every chat.
