Set a Custom AI as your writing voice

Build a voice Custom AI from representative writing, then make its style the default for every chat you start in that Eden workspace.

A writing voice gives Eden more than a few tone adjectives. Build a Custom AI from real writing samples, then select it under Personalization. Eden uses its instructions as style guidance in every chat you start in that workspace — without changing anyone else's chats.

Build your voice Custom AI

    Start the voice builder

    Go to Settings → AI → Personalization. Under Writing voice, click Build a voice. Eden closes Settings and opens a guided builder chat.

    Give Eden representative material

    Paste writing, @ mention samples saved in your workspace, or share a creator whose craft you want to study. A few strong pieces in the style you want more of are better than a large mixed archive. Tell the builder whether the AI should write, critique, mentor, or combine those jobs.

    Review the proposed voice

    Eden turns the evidence into concrete instructions: worldview, audience relationship, argument habits, syntax, rhythm, hooks, vocabulary, formatting, and do/avoid rules. Correct anything that does not sound right before you approve the save.

    Choose it as your writing voice

    Return to Settings → AI → Personalization. Open Your writing voice and select the Custom AI you just built. The selection saves immediately.

You can also open the Custom AI, choose Configure, and turn on Your writing voice there. Both controls change the same setting.

What changes after you turn it on

The voice Custom AI's instructions become style guidance for:

  • plain Eden AI chats;
  • chats using a different Custom AI; and
  • writing produced while you use a skill.

The request in the current chat still comes first. If you ask for a formal client memo, Eden should not force a casual voice onto it just because the voice profile prefers short social posts.

When you chat with the selected voice Custom AI itself, Eden uses that Custom AI normally instead of adding a duplicate copy of its voice instructions.

Switch voices or turn the voice off

Open Settings → AI → Personalization and use Your writing voice:

  • Choose another Custom AI to replace the current voice.
  • Choose Off to stop applying a default writing voice.
  • Click Build a voice to make another option, such as separate voices for newsletters and X.

Only active, hand-built Custom AIs from the current workspace appear in the picker. Managed marketplace Custom AIs do not appear. If a Custom AI is missing, confirm that it belongs to this workspace, is active, and is an editable Custom AI you built or copied here.

Improve the voice over time

Open the Custom AI and edit its instructions when drafts consistently miss a pattern. Add clearer do/avoid rules, replace weak or outdated samples, and keep the corpus focused on the output you want. Future chats use the revised instructions automatically.
