Capture something

1. 01

   Open Capture

   Press ⌘ Shift K (Ctrl Shift K on Windows). Or click New at the top of the sidebar, then Capture.

   Pick what you're saving

   Choose Text, Link, or Media in the bottom left. Press Tab to switch.

   Save it

   Press ⌘ Enter. The box clears so you can capture the next thing.

The tabs in ⌘ K

⌘ K has four tabs at the top: All, Workspace, Store, and Capture.

It also works on your store, product, and community pages. There it opens on Store, with that page's rows on top. In a community, those are its channels.

What each mode saves

Mode	What you put in	What you get
Text	A quick thought or longer writing	A Card (sticky note) or a Document. Toggle it next to the destination.
Link	Any URL	A link card with title and preview. Add a note on why you saved it.
Media	Images, PDFs, EPUBs, or .md files	Files you can open and read. A .md file becomes a document.

Talk instead of type

In Text, click the mic next to the save button and start talking. Click it again to stop. Your words show up as text at the end of what you wrote. It works in the Mac app's floating Capture too.

Save to a board instead of Library

Everything goes to your Library by default. To send it somewhere else:

• Click the destination pill in the bottom right, or press ⌘ Shift Enter.
• Pick a board, or make a new one.
• Picking a board does not save anything. Press ⌘ Enter when you're ready.

To change the default for good, go to Settings → Preferences → Default location.

Capture outside Eden (Mac app)

The Mac app opens a floating Capture window over any app, even when Eden is in the background.

• ⌘ Shift K opens Floating Capture.
• ⌘ Shift P opens it on the Link tab with your copied URL filled in.
• Change either shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts.
