Saving paid and members-only articles
Paid Patreon posts, paid Substacks, and other members-only articles need one extra step to save in full — capture them with the Chrome extension while you're signed in.
A paid Patreon post or a paid Substack looks like any other link, but the article behind it is only visible to you while you're signed in. Saving the link with the Chrome extension, from the open post itself, is how the full text gets into Eden.
When you paste a link into Eden, Eden's servers visit that page to pull in the article. For a members-only post, the server isn't signed in to your account — so the site only shows it the free preview, the same teaser a stranger would see. Your subscription lives in your browser, not on Eden's servers.
That's why a paid post saved by pasting the link can come up as "members-only" in Reader instead of the full article. Eden now detects this and tells you, rather than quietly saving just the preview.
Save the full article
The Chrome extension captures the page exactly as you see it — signed in, paywall open.

Open the post in Chrome
Go to the article in Chrome and make sure you're signed in to the site, with the full text visible on screen.

Click the Eden extension icon
With the post open as your current tab, click the Eden icon in the toolbar. The popup pre-fills the page's link.

Save
Pick a destination and hit save. The extension sends along what the page shows you, so the whole article lands in Eden — ready for Reader view and highlighting.
One detail that matters: the extension captures the tab you're looking at. Saving from the open post captures the full article; right-clicking a link on some other page saves just the link, and Eden falls back to whatever the site shows publicly.
Which sites this covers
Any site where an article is behind a login or a membership: Patreon posts for paid members, paid Substack newsletters, and news sites with subscriber-only articles. If you can read it in your browser, the extension can capture it.
