Schedule YouTube Shorts with Eden

Connect your YouTube channel and schedule vertical Shorts — with a title and description — published from Eden's servers. Learn what's supported and the limits.

Eden schedules and publishes YouTube Shorts alongside the rest of your networks — from Eden's servers, so they go live whether or not your computer is on. This guide covers connecting your channel, what you can post, and the YouTube-specific rules to know.

Shorts only — not long-form videos (yet)

Eden's YouTube scheduling is built for Shorts: short, vertical videos. Every video you schedule to YouTube is published as a Short.

  • No long-form uploads yet. Regular landscape/long-form YouTube videos aren't supported through Eden at the moment — this is a planned addition, not available today.
  • No Community posts. YouTube has no public API for Community tab posts (the text/image updates), so no scheduling tool can publish them, Eden included.

To actually appear as a Short, YouTube needs the video to be vertical (9:16) and 3 minutes or shorter. Eden flags the Short for you automatically (and YouTube adds the #Shorts tag) — just make sure the video itself fits those bounds.

Connect your channel

  1. 01

    Open Connected accounts

In Eden, go to Settings → Scheduling → Connected accounts and click Connect accounts. YouTube links in the same one-step flow as X, LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

  2. 02

Pick the channel and approve permissions

On Google's own login, choose the YouTube channel you want to publish from and approve every permission. If your Google account has several channels, select the right one — that's the channel Eden will post to.

  3. 03

Close the window — Eden syncs

When the window closes, YouTube appears with a green Connected badge. If it doesn't show right away, click the refresh icon next to “Connect accounts.”

What you can post

In the Schedule composer, select YouTube as a target (it appears once your channel is connected) and compose as usual. A YouTube Short needs:

  • A vertical video — one video per Short, 9:16 and 3 minutes or shorter. (No images, carousels, or text-only posts — YouTube is video-only.)
  • A title — a dedicated, required field, up to 100 characters. It shows as the video's title on YouTube.
  • A description (optional) — your post text becomes the Short's description, up to 5,000 characters. Leave it blank if you just want a title.

What to expect

  • Published as a public Short. Scheduled Shorts go out public to your channel at the scheduled time, from Eden's servers — your computer doesn't need to be on.
  • Honest failures. If a Short can't publish (for example, a missing title or a disconnected channel), it lands in the “Attention needed” section at the top of your Queue with a plain-language reason and one-click Publish now / Reschedule actions.
  • One credit per post. Publishing costs 1 credit when it goes out, no matter how many platforms it targets — posting a Short to YouTube, X, and LinkedIn together is still 1 credit.

If a YouTube Short won't behave, the Scheduling troubleshooting guide covers the common YouTube snags (vertical-video requirement, the required title, and channel connection).
