Export your workspace
Download everything you've put into Eden as a zip — documents and cards as markdown, saved links as a spreadsheet, your highlights, and your uploaded files.
Your work in Eden is yours. One click in Settings builds a zip of everything you've saved — in open formats you can take anywhere — and emails you a download link when it's ready.
The export follows a simple rule: you get back everything you put in. Notes and cards come out as plain markdown, saved links come out as a spreadsheet of their source URLs, uploads come out as the original files. Nothing is locked in a proprietary format.
How to export
- 01
Open Settings → Workspace
Scroll to Export workspace at the bottom of the panel.
- 02
Click Export workspace
Eden starts building the zip and shows live progress. You don't need to wait around — close the window and we'll email you a download link when it's ready.
- 03
Download the zip
A Download zip link appears in Settings when the export finishes, and the same link arrives by email. Download links work for 7 days.
What's in the zip
documents/— every document as its own markdown file, with the title, dates, and tags in frontmatter. They open cleanly in Obsidian, Notion, or any text editor.cards.md— all your cards combined into one markdown file, in the order you captured them.links.csv— every link and social post you've saved, as a spreadsheet with the title, source URL, platform, date saved, and tags. Opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.highlights/— your highlights, one markdown file per book or source, with your notes attached.files/— the original files you uploaded: images, PDFs, audio, video, EPUBs, and documents, under their original names.export-info.txt— a summary of what was exported and anything that was skipped.
What's not included
The export includes what you brought into Eden, not what Eden computed from it:
- Transcripts, Reader views, and AI descriptions of saved links and social posts. For those items you get the source URL — the original is always one click away.
- Chats with Eve.
- Board layouts. The items on your boards are all in the export; the visual arrangement isn't.
Large workspaces
Big exports keep building in the background — you can close Eden entirely and the email link
will still arrive. Individual files over 1 GB are skipped to keep the zip manageable; anything
skipped is listed in export-info.txt so nothing disappears silently.
Exporting before you cancel
You don't need to export before canceling — your boards and items stay in your account and remain accessible on the free plan. But if you want a local copy of everything, running an export takes a minute and the download link works for 7 days regardless of your plan.
Canceling, pausing, and refunds
How to cancel an Eden subscription, what happens to your data, and how refunds are handled.
Trash and version retention
How long Eden keeps trashed items and old version snapshots before reaping them, per plan. Includes the 14-day grace window after a plan downgrade so nothing falls off a cliff the moment your card is charged.
The Library: everything you've saved, in one place
