The Library: everything you've saved, in one place
The Library is your workspace-wide home for every link, PDF, image, note, saved post, and highlight. Here is how it works and how it relates to boards.
The Library is where everything you save in Eden lives: links, PDFs, images, your own notes and documents, saved social posts, and highlights. One place, always complete.
When you save something to Eden, it goes to the Library. New accounts open straight into it, so the first thing you see is the full set of what you've collected. Nothing gets lost in a folder you forgot to check.
Every saved thing is a canonical item
The core idea: each thing you save is a single, canonical "item" that exists once in your workspace. That one item can appear on any number of boards without being copied.
Think of it this way:
- The Library is the full set. Every item you've ever saved is here.
- A board is a curated subset. You pull items onto it and arrange them for a specific purpose.
Because an item exists once, putting it on three boards is just three references to the same thing. Read it in one place and its highlights show up wherever it appears. Nothing goes stale, and nothing duplicates.
Where items come from
Items arrive from all over, and they all land in the same Library:
- The Chrome extension, for saving pages, posts, and videos as you browse.
- The mobile share sheet, for saving from any app on your phone.
- Email-in, for forwarding newsletters straight into your Library.
- Drag-and-drop, for dropping PDFs and images in from your desktop.
- Pasting a link, which Eden enriches with a title and preview.
- Quick capture, for jotting a note fast.
- Saving from Discover, for pulling proven posts into your workspace.
However it got there, once it's in the Library you can work with it the same way.
What you can do with an item
From the Library, open any item to:
- Read it in Eden. Links, PDFs, EPUBs, and social posts open in reader view, a clean reading surface inside Eden.
- Highlight it. Mark the passages that matter while you read; they collect in the Highlights pane.
- Connect it. Link an item to related items so your research holds together.
- Search it. Find anything across your whole Library by keyword or meaning.
- Place it on a board. Send it to any board to arrange it alongside related work.
Saving never forces you to file
You do not have to organize anything to save it. Saving to the Library is the whole action. Boards are optional structure you add on top, when and if a project needs it.
This matters because it removes the friction that kills most save-it-for-later habits. You never face a "which folder does this go in" decision at the moment of saving. Save first, always. Organize later, only when it helps.
Where to go next
- To narrow a large Library down, read filtering and browsing your Library.
- To make new items without leaving, read creating items directly in the Library.
- To find a specific thing, read searching your Library.
- To build your first working desk, read creating your first board.
Filtering and browsing your Library
Narrow your Library with filter chips, group items by source, and sort the grid. Chips work as a union, so each one you add shows more items, not fewer.
Creating items directly in the Library
Make notes and cards, upload PDFs and images, and paste links to save them, all without leaving the Library. Each becomes an item you can reuse anywhere.
Searching your Library with AI
Search everything you've saved by meaning, not just keywords. Eden's AI search finds the right links, notes, PDFs, and highlights fast.
