Eden AI

The chat sidebar

See and grow what a chat knows without leaving it. Custom AI chats show their knowledge and settings; ordinary chats get standing instructions and context you can save as a Custom AI.

The sidebar is the floating card to the right of the conversation. It answers one question at a glance: what does this chat know? A fresh ordinary chat starts without it and slides it in after your first message; a Custom AI chat shows it from the welcome screen. It needs a wide enough chat, and the sidebar button in the chat header hides or shows it. What it shows depends on the kind of chat you're in.

In a Custom AI chat

It shows the Custom AI you're talking to:

  • Instructions — click the row to read or edit the standing instructions in a window. Changes save to the Custom AI itself.
  • Workspace access — pick instructions only, only the attached knowledge, or the whole workspace.
  • Routines — the recurring runs tied to this Custom AI. Click to pause, add, or remove them.
  • Knowledge — every connected source, with what kind of thing it is and whether it's always on. Click a note, file, or board to open it, a post or video to see its details, a creator to open their profile, or a brand to open its ad library page. Hover a source and click the × to disconnect it.
  • Add — attach more without opening the editor: pick something from your workspace, upload a file, paste a link to a video or post, add a creator, or add a brand's ad library. Uploads land in your Library first, exactly as they do in the editor.

Everything you change here is the real Custom AI. Add a source in the sidebar and it's there the next time you open that Custom AI anywhere.

In an ordinary chat

You get a small, durable context for just this chat:

  • Instructions — click the row to write standing guidance in a window. It rides with every message. "Keep answers short." "I'm writing for founders." "Always end with one next step."
  • Context — workspace items, uploaded files, creators, brands, and links that Eden should use in every reply here. Items you've pinned or selected on a board show up marked Attached now; click the + beside one to keep it as part of the chat's standing context.

This is the fast way to set up a working session: paste in the brief, attach the two notes that matter, add the creator you're studying, and start talking. You don't have to @-mention the same things each turn.

Save a chat as a Custom AI

When a chat's instructions and context turn out to be worth reusing, click Save as Custom AI at the bottom of the card. The row appears once the chat has instructions or something attached. Give it a name, tidy the instructions, and Eden creates the Custom AI with your items and creators as its knowledge, then continues the conversation inside it.

Pasted links stay with the original chat — a Custom AI's knowledge is made of things in Eden (items, boards, creators, posts). Save the link to your Library first if you want it carried over.

On narrow chats

When the chat is too narrow to hold both a sidebar and a readable conversation, the same card floats over the conversation instead. Use the sidebar button in the header to open it, and click outside it or press Escape to put it away. On a board card it stays out of the way entirely. If you'd rather it stay closed until you ask, turn off Open the chat sidebar by default in Settings → Preferences → AI Chat. The header button then opens it for the current session only.
