The chat sidebar

See and change what a chat knows, from the card beside the conversation.

The sidebar is the card to the right of a chat. It shows what the chat knows. Click the sidebar button in the chat header to show or hide it.

Open or close the sidebar

A Custom AI chat shows it right away. A plain chat shows it after your first message.
Hover the header button: it reads Show chat context, Show Custom AI knowledge, or Hide sidebar.
In a narrow chat, the card floats over the conversation. Click outside it or press Esc to close it.
Chats inside a board card don't have a sidebar.
To keep it closed until you ask, turn off Settings → Preferences → Open the chat sidebar by default.

Give a plain chat standing context

Add instructions
Click Add instructions and write guidance like "Keep answers short." It's sent with every message in this chat.

Add context
Click Add next to Context. Pick From your workspace, Upload a file, Paste a link, Add a creator, or Add a brand.

Keep attached items
Items you pinned or selected show as Attached now. Click + (Keep in this chat) to make one stick.

Now you don't have to @ mention the same things every turn.

Turn a chat into a Custom AI

Once a chat has instructions or context, Save as Custom AI appears at the bottom of the card. Name it, tidy the instructions, and save. Your items and creators become its knowledge, and the chat continues inside it.

Pasted links stay with the old chat. Save a link to your Library first if you want it carried over.

Edit a Custom AI from its chat

In a Custom AI chat, the card shows the real Custom AI. Changes here save to it everywhere.

Row	What it does
Instructions	Read or edit its standing instructions.
Workspace access	Off (instructions only), Attached only, or Whole workspace.
Routines	See, pause, add, or remove its scheduled runs.
Knowledge	Open any source. Hover and click the × to remove it. Add adds more.
