How email pricing works
Eden prices email by the emails you send, not the size of your list. See what each plan includes, what extra sends cost, and what your list would cost.
You pay for sends, not for your list. Each plan includes sends every month. Need more? Extra sends start at 10,000 a month for $10, and only if you turn them on.
What counts as a send
- One email to one person is one send. A broadcast to 2,000 people uses 2,000 sends.
- Broadcasts and sequences share the same sends.
- Test emails don't count.
- Sends reset on the 1st of each month. Unused sends don't roll over.
- Unsubscribed and bounced people don't count toward your contacts.
What each plan includes
| Plan | Price a month | Contacts | Sends a month | Emails |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Import up to 10,000 | None | Sending needs Starter |
| Starter | $29 | 10,000 | 10,000 | Broadcasts |
| Pro | $79 | 50,000 | 50,000 | Broadcasts, sequences, checkout recovery, deadline offers |
| Max | $199 | 150,000 | 200,000 | Everything in Pro |
Agency Lite and Agency include the same contacts and sends as Max.
What extra sends cost
Extra sends come in levels. The more you need, the less each send costs.
| Extra sends a month | Price a month | Per 1,000 sends |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $10 | $1.00 |
| 20,000 | $16 | $0.80 |
| 50,000 | $35 | $0.70 |
| 100,000 | $55 | $0.55 |
| 300,000 | $75 | $0.25 |
| 750,000 | $150 | $0.20 |
| 1,500,000 | $285 | $0.19 |
On a yearly plan, each level costs 10 times its monthly price a year, charged for the part of the year that's left.
Work out what your list costs
- Multiply your list by how many emails you send a month. Weekly is about 4, daily is about 30.
- Take away the sends your plan includes.
- If anything is left, pick the smallest level above that covers it.
| Your list | How often | Sends a month | Plan | Extra sends | Total a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | Weekly | 40,000 | Pro ($79) | None needed | $79 |
| 25,000 | Weekly | 100,000 | Pro ($79) | 50,000 for $35 | $114 |
| 10,000 | Daily | 300,000 | Starter ($29) | 300,000 for $75 | $104 |
The daily example is on Starter, so it's broadcasts only. Sequences need Pro.
Choose what happens when you run out
Your first broadcast or sequence asks this once, in Turn on email marketing:
- Add more sends when I run out: Eden moves you up to the next level that covers it, up to your limit (Never spend more than this a month).
- Only use my included sends: emails past them wait until the 1st. Nothing is charged.
With extra sends on:
- You're charged the day you move up, for the rest of your billing period.
- The level stays on your plan every month until you lower it.
- Lowering takes effect on your next bill. You keep this month's sends.
- At your limit, emails wait until the 1st.
Before you send a broadcast, it shows how many sends it uses and what happens past what's left.
Get warned before you hit a limit
- We email you at 80%, 90%, and 95% of your contacts, and of this month's sends.
- From 80%, a banner at the top of the Email tab shows how close you are. It's on the web and in the phone apps.
- We also email you each time we add sends, and when emails are waiting.
Change it later
Go to Email → Settings, under Contacts.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Extra sends on your plan | Pick a level yourself, or lower it. Raising is charged that day. |
| When sends run out | Switch between adding sends and included sends only. |
| Monthly limit on extra sends | The most Eden adds on its own each month. Shows when adding is on. |
More contacts than your plan holds
- Starter and Pro: move up a plan. Until you do, broadcasts and new people entering sequences pause. Signups and buyers still save to your list. An import past your plan's contacts opens Upgrade to import your whole list. Your import waits there, so you don't upload it again.
- Max: add 50,000 contacts for $20 a month each, up to 500,000. Eden asks and shows the price first.
- More than 500,000: you need a custom plan. If an import takes you past it, click Talk to us in the pop-up. If your list grows past it on its own, sending keeps going and we're told right away. Either way, we email you within a day.
Move up a plan on its own
Turn on Move me up a plan when my list is full in Email → Settings, or tick it in Turn on email marketing. It's off until you turn it on.
- When your list passes your plan's contacts, Eden moves you up one plan: Starter to Pro, or Pro to Max. Your emails never pause.
- You're charged the new plan's price, minus what's left of your current plan, that day. The switch shows the plan and price before you turn it on.
- If your list is already full when you turn it on, the move happens right away.
- We email you when we move you up.
- It works on Starter and Pro plans paid on the web. It doesn't move you during a trial, on App Store billing, or on a lifetime plan.
- On Max, contacts are added in blocks instead (above).
Coming from Kit, beehiiv, or Mailchimp?
- Go to Audience → Subscribers and click Import contacts.
- Upload your list and pick no product. People join your email list only. Up to 50,000 people per list.
Imported people get your broadcasts. Importing them doesn't start a sequence. Only import people who agreed to hear from you.
On Substack? Keep it. Eden can add your new signups to Substack for you. See Connect your email list.
