Connect your Kindle highlights

Sync your Kindle book highlights into Eden through the Chrome extension, no Readwise needed, and turn them into searchable quote cards.

·4 min read

Bring your Kindle book highlights straight into Eden, no Readwise account required. They join the same Highlights library as everything else and can become quote cards on any board.

If you highlight as you read on Kindle, those passages are some of the best raw material you have. Connecting Kindle pulls them into Eden so you can search them, boost them, and drop them onto boards alongside the rest of your highlights.

How it works

You connect through the Eden Chrome extension, which securely hands your Amazon reading session to Eden. From there, Eden syncs your Kindle notebook highlights on its own servers. The extension is a one-time courier: it passes the session across, and Eden does the actual syncing in the background.

Connect Kindle

  1. 01

    Open the Eden Chrome extension

Install and open the Eden Chrome extension if you don't have it yet.

  2. 02

    Pick your Amazon region

Choose the Amazon region your Kindle account lives in, then click Connect.

  3. 03

Sign in to Amazon if needed

If you're not already signed in to Amazon, Eden opens the Amazon sign-in for you. Once you finish, it connects automatically and starts the first sync.

After the first sync, your Kindle highlights appear in the Highlights pane under the Kindle tab, ready to search and send to boards.

Sync and plans

  • Connecting and manual sync are available on Starter and above. Click Sync now on the Kindle card any time to pull new highlights.
  • Automatic daily sync is on Pro and above, so your library refreshes on its own without you lifting a finger.
  • On Free and Personal, the connect option is gated. You'll see a prompt to upgrade.

Reconnecting

Amazon sessions expire over time. If the Kindle card shows session expired, click Reconnect to refresh it through the extension. Your already-synced highlights stay put; reconnecting just restores the live connection.

Managing the connection

Manage Kindle from Settings → Integrations on the Kindle card. From there you can sync manually, reconnect, or disconnect. Disconnecting keeps your synced highlights in Eden and only removes the connection.
