beehiiv raised its prices on October 1, 2026. Lite (formerly Scale) now starts at $59 a month for 1,000 subscribers, up from $49, and costs $139 at 10,000, up from $109. Pro (formerly Max) is $239 at 10,000, up from $219. The free plan still covers 2,500 subscribers but lost custom domains. New customers pay the new prices now. Existing customers move over at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

Full disclosure: we make Eden, a creator store with email marketing and paid newsletters. Old prices come from beehiiv's pricing page as archived on September 23, 2026, and new prices from the live page on October 4, 2026.

What changed

  • Plan names. Launch is now Free, Scale is now Lite, and Max is now Pro. Enterprise stays.
  • Prices. Lite and Pro cost more at almost every list size. The biggest jumps are in the middle: 10,000 to 50,000 subscribers.
  • Bigger plans. Lite goes up to 100,000 subscribers. Pro now goes to 250,000 without talking to sales.
  • Free lost custom domains. You now need Lite to use your own domain.
  • When. New customers from October 1, 2026. Existing customers at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

Is beehiiv still worth it?

For a newsletter that's the business itself, often yes. The ad network, referral program, and recommendations are hard to match, and 0% on paid subscriptions beats Substack's 10% once you earn a few hundred dollars a month.

It's harder to justify when:

  • Your list is small. Under 10,000 subscribers, the free plans at Kit (10,000) and Substack (unlimited) cover a lot.
  • You mostly sell products. If your emails exist to sell courses, coaching, or downloads, much of what you pay for on beehiiv is publication tools you don't use.
  • You were on the old prices. At 10,000 subscribers on Lite, the change costs $360 more a year, paid monthly.

Your options

  • Lock in yearly before your renewal. Billed yearly costs up to 20% less.
  • Drop to Free if you're under 2,500. You keep the website and recommendations, but lose custom domains, automations, and paid subscriptions.
  • Keep beehiiv and add a store. Connect beehiiv to a store like Eden, so buyers and signups still land in beehiiv while the store handles products and sales emails.
  • Move. Kit, Substack, Ghost, MailerLite, and Eden are the usual picks. See beehiiv alternatives.

Where Eden fits

Eden is a creator store with email marketing and paid newsletters built in. You don't have to leave beehiiv to use it: connect beehiiv in Your store → Integrations, and Who goes where decides which buyers and signups land in beehiiv and which go to Eden's own list.

If you want your paid newsletter in the same place as everything else you sell, Eden sells it as a product: monthly, yearly, or once, with each issue emailed to paying readers and kept in an archive in Eden. Eden takes 5% of each payment (2% on Max). See Newsletters.

At 2,500 subscribers, a paid newsletter costs $79 a month on beehiiv Lite. On Eden Starter it's $29, plus $29 for a 2,500-contact list, plus 5% of sales. At small paid revenue Eden costs about the same, and beehiiv wins as revenue grows. Eden's price also covers your store, courses, coaching, and AI.

Where Eden falls short

Eden has no public web archive, no ad network, no referral program, and no recommendation network. Issues send from Eden's address, not your own domain. Paid subscribers can't be moved over from beehiiv automatically yet. If those matter, beehiiv is still the better newsletter tool. See Eden vs beehiiv.
