Commonplace book, October

Three ideas that kept coming back this month.

1. Attention is the real budget. What I let in decides what I can make.

2. Reading without writing is just entertainment.

3. The best lines come from the books I argued with, not the ones I agreed with.

Next. Pull the Seneca and the Filips video into one essay and see where they meet.

Sound familiar?

Your best ideas are scattered across six different apps.

Screenshots you never look at again. Bookmarks you can't find. Highlights stuck in Kindle. You don't need a better system. You need one place that does the sorting for you.

Save anything. Organize nothing.

Save a page, a post, a video, or a single line with one click from the Chrome extension, or from any app on your phone. No folders to pick, no tags to type.

01 · Save anything

Bring in everything you've already saved.

Connect Kindle, Readwise, Snipd, X bookmarks, Instagram saves, Substack, and RSS. Years of highlights and saves come in at once, and nothing you love gets left behind.

02 · Bring it all in

Read it once. Keep the best lines.

Read articles, newsletters, PDFs, books, and YouTube transcripts in a calm, clean reader. Mark a line in one of four colors and add a note while it's fresh.

03 · Read and highlight

Ask your library anything.

Eve has read everything you saved. Ask what you know about a topic, where your sources disagree, or what you're missing, and every answer points back to the save it came from.

04 · Chat with anything

Why great writers kept a commonplace book.

Leonardo da Vinci filled thousands of notebook pages with what he saw and read. Writers have kept commonplace books for centuries, one place for every line worth keeping. Eden is yours, with a desk beside it. Put your saves next to your draft and write.

05 · Think and write
Who it's for

For minds that collect.

Everyone saves something. What matters is what you make from it.

Writers

You save quotes, essays, and half-formed ideas.

You make newsletters, essays, and the book you keep meaning to start.

Learners

You save books, courses, and long videos.

You make knowledge that sticks, with summaries and a quiz on what you read.

Thinkers

You save questions, arguments, and the posts that changed your mind.

You make sharper ideas, with a partner who pushes back.

Designers and artists

You save references, moodboards, and things that just look right.

You make your next project, with every reference in one place.

Journalers

You save lines that moved you and notes to yourself.

You make a record of what you read, thought, and became.

Researchers and students

You save papers, PDFs, and pages of notes.

You make findings you can trace back to the source.

Before Eden I was using Obsidian as my second brain and other tools to take notes. Eden makes everything so much easier. I have everything in one place now and can use AI to get to all my notes and create inspiration out of it.

Before Eden, I was using a combination of Notion, Apple Notes, texting mobile screenshots to myself, and 3 different LLMs. Only 50% of what I collected and wrote was leveraged. With Eden, my life got so much easier.

Eden has truly become my second brain, everything is gathered in one spot for organization, it's amazing.
“My creativity has a room now. It used to live in five different apps and a lot of screenshots, and I was the one holding it all together.”

Questions, answered

What people ask before they move their ideas in.

Do I have to organize anything?

No. Save it and move on. Eden reads what you save and sorts it, so you can find it later by searching for what it was about, even if you forgot the title.

What's the difference between Personal and Personal Plus?

Personal is your library. Unlimited saves, the reader, highlights, imports that sync, and docs to write in. Personal Plus adds Eve, so you can chat with everything you've saved and talk to any video. It also lets you search Discover for the best posts, articles, and videos on any topic, and gives you 150 AI credits a month.

Can I keep using Readwise or Kindle?

Yes. Connect them and your highlights flow into Eden. On Personal and Personal Plus they sync on their own every day. X bookmarks, Instagram saves, Substack, Snipd, and RSS work the same way.

I already have notes in Notion or Obsidian. Can I bring them?

Yes. Import from Notion, Obsidian, or Evernote. Your pages become notes in your library, and an Obsidian vault keeps its tags and links.

Is my library private?

Yes. Everything you save is private to you. A board only becomes visible to someone else if you share it with them.

Can I leave and take my stuff with me?

Yes. Export your whole workspace anytime as a zip, with your notes as markdown files and your saved links in a spreadsheet.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Save from any app with the share menu on the iPhone app or the Android app (in beta), and read and chat on the go.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your billing settings whenever you want, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
