Tag members and share quick links
Tag community members to open tag channels, and share a link that lets people straight in with tags and a role.
On the web, open your community and click the shield (Admin), then Members. Click ⋯ next to someone and pick Tags to tag them. Scroll down to Quick links and click Make a link to let people straight in.
You and your admins can do both. They're on the web only, not in the phone apps. Owners can also open Quick links from the ⋮ on the community's row in Store → Communities.
Tag a member
- 01
Open their tags
In Admin → Members, click ⋯ next to the person and pick Tags.
- 02
Check or uncheck tags
Each check saves right away. To make a new tag, type its name and click Create tag.
- 03
Close it
Click Done. Their tags show under their name in the list.
- Tags open any channel set to Only for that tag, right away.
- Tags go on their email contact too, so you can send to them later. If they had no contact, one is made, but they aren't added to your email list.
- Adding a tag can start an email sequence that starts when that tag is added.
- A tag with a lock came from an application you accepted. You can't take it off here.
Make a quick link
A quick link lets anyone who opens it join with a free Eden account. No application or checkout.
- 01
Start a link
In Admin → Members, under Quick links, click Make a link.
- 02
Pick what it gives
Fill in the options below, then click Make link.
- 03
Share it
Click Copy link and send it however you like.
When you paste the link in a chat or post, it shows your community product's name, tagline, and share image, the same card as its store page. The image shows once the product is published.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | Only your team sees it. Up to 80 characters. |
| Tags | Up to 10. Everyone who joins gets them, so tag channels open for them. |
| They join as | Member or Moderator. Only send a moderator link to people you trust. |
| Stops working | Never, in 1, 7, or 30 days, or on a day you pick, up to a year out. |
| How many people can use it | No limit, One person, or a set number up to 10,000. |
What happens when someone opens it
- They see your community, who hosts it, and what the link gives.
- Signed in, they click Join. Signed out, they click Sign in to join and they're in once they sign in. New people make a free account with their email.
- Once in, if the community's product is published, it also shows in their Purchases, on the web and on their phone.
- Already a member? They click Add what this link gives to get any tags they're missing. A moderator link makes a member a moderator. It never lowers anyone's role.
See who joined or turn a link off
- Who joined lists everyone who used the link, newest first. Left means they're not in the community anymore.
- Turn off stops anyone new from using it. People who already joined stay in. You can't turn it back on, so make a new link instead.
- Turned-off and expired links move under Old links.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Live | It works. |
| Used up | It hit its limit. People who already used it can still come back. |
| Expired | Its end date passed. |
| Off | You turned it off. |
