A community is a product in a creator's store. Open its page and click the button, like Get it free or Join for $29/month. You're in once it goes through, with a free Eden account.

Join a community

  1. 01

    Open its page

Use the link the creator shared, or find the community in their store. The page lists what's included.

  2. 02

    Get it

Free ones say Get it free. Paid ones go through checkout, the same as any product. No Eden account yet? Checkout makes one for you.

  3. 03

    Open it

Follow the page you land on after checkout and sign in with the email you used. The community opens on Chat. Library and Events sit beside it, unless the host turned them off. On the web they're in the icon bar on the left; on a phone they're tabs at the top.

Some communities ask you to apply first. The button opens the creator's application. If they accept you, you get a private link to join. On a paid one, you only pay once you're accepted.

Already got it with a course

Some communities come with another product, like a course or a cohort. Buy that product and you're in. Open the product, and the community's name shows there. Click or tap it to go in.

Find your community again

WhereHow to get there
WebHome → Your communities, or Store → Purchases
iPhone/AndroidHome → Your communities in the Eden app, or Store → Purchases
Comes withOpen the course or cohort, then the community's name

Every community you're in shows under Your communities, even one you didn't buy. That covers communities you host, help run, joined free, or were invited to. Each card shows your role (Host, Admin, Mod, or Member), the latest message, and the next event.

If you run a store, Communities sits right under Purchases in the store sidebar. On the Mac app, the pop-out button next to Open puts a community in its own window.

Your first time in

The first time you open a community, a short welcome walks you through it, one step at a time. You only see the steps that apply.

StepWhat you do
WelcomeThe host's video, note, and Start here links. Click Next (or Done if it's the only step).
Community rulesClick I agree. Not now moves on, but you can't post until you agree.
Set up your profileAdd a photo, what you're working on, a bio, and your links. Click Save and continue or Skip.
You're inSay hi in General opens the chat with "Hi everyone! I'm working on" in the box. Or Look around first.

Close it early and the steps you didn't reach come back next time. To see them again, open Members, then Welcome or Rules. Rules are also in ⋯ → Community rules.

Find guides and resources

Open Library for posts worth keeping: guides, breakdowns, videos, and files. Its categories, like Start here, Guides, Breakdowns, Wins, and Resources, are listed beside it on the web and in a row at the top on a phone. Pick All posts (web) or All (phone) to see everything.

  • Resources holds the files, guides, and templates that come with the community. Open a post to read the resource, preview a file, or download it.
  • Some categories are for the hosts only. You can read and reply there, but not start a post.
  • More in Community posts and events.

Set up your profile

Your profile is the card people see when they click or tap your name. It shows your photo, what you're working on, a short bio, and your links.

The first-time welcome asks you to Set up your profile. Save it or skip it, and it won't ask again.

To change it later:

  • Open the ⋯ menu, then Edit profile. On the web it's at the bottom of the icon bar on the left; on a phone it's top right.
  • Or click or tap your own name, then Edit profile.
FieldWhere it shows
Photo, What are you working on?, Bio (300 characters), LinksEvery community you're in
NameOnly this community

For Links, a handle is enough, like @yourname for X or Instagram. Eden turns it into the link. Each icon only goes to its own site, so an Instagram link has to be on instagram.com.

If you sell on Eden, setup starts from your store page's photo, bio, and links. New members get a New badge next to their name for their first 7 days.

Leave a community

On the web, open the community, then ⋯. It's at the bottom of the icon bar on the left, or top right if there's no icon bar. What you see depends on how you got in. The Eden phone apps don't have this.

How you got inWhat the ⋯ menu shows
FreeLeave community. Confirm, and you're out.
Invited, or joined by linkLeave community.
Monthly or yearlyManage membership. Cancel there. You stay in until the paid time ends.
Paid onceNo way to leave: it's yours for life. Turn its notifications off to quiet it.
Comes with a courseFree community: Leave community. Paid: Manage membership if the course is monthly or yearly.

Paying in parts? The menu shows Update card instead.

You can also cancel a membership on the web in Store → Purchases, with Manage on the community.

Left a free one by mistake? Open it again from its link or from Store → Purchases and you're back in.

The host and the store's team can't leave their own community.
