Add resources to your community
Give members a guide to read, templates, and files. Each one shows as a post in the Library's Resources category.
On the web, open your community's product and go to the Resources step. Add documents, boards, tables, or files, then publish. Each one shows up as a post in the Library's Resources category.
Add a resource
- 01
Open the Resources step
Open the community's product in your store and click Resources in the steps.
- 02
Add what members should have
Click From your workspace to pick a document, board, or table, or Upload files. Pick Download-only file for things like a zip or a docx.
- 03
Put them in order
Click Add section to make groups like "Start here" or "Templates", and drag rows to order them. The first time you publish, the first one sits on top. After that, new resources show up on top, and moving rows doesn't move posts that are already there.
- 04
Publish
Each resource gets its own post when you publish. Nobody gets a ping for them.
What happens on each publish
| You change | In the Library |
|---|---|
| Add a resource | A new post in Resources. |
| Rename it | The post's title changes, unless a host already edited it. |
| Remove it from the product | Its post goes away. Add it back and the post comes back. |
You and your hosts can edit a resource post's title or add a note about why it matters. If you delete a resource post, it stays deleted, but the resource stays in the product.
What members can do
Members open Library, pick Resources, and open a post to read the resource right there.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Download | Saves the file. Documents save as Markdown. |
| Use this template | Makes their own copy of a document, board, or table to edit. |
| Add to workspace | Puts their own copy of a file in their Eden workspace. |
| Open my copy | Opens the copy they already made. |
What each person can do with a resource follows its access setting on the Resources step.
Someone whose access doesn't include a resource sees "This resource comes with the community's product." with nothing to open.
Point new members at your guide
In the Community step, under Welcome pop-up, click Add a link, pick Resource, and choose the guide. New members open it straight from the pop-up.
