Community posts and events

Read and write Library posts by category, open resources, heart the best ones, and join a community's live events.

Next to Chat, a community can have Library for posts that should stick around and Events for live calls. The host picks which ones are on. Open Events and tap the going button to get reminders before a call starts.

Write a Library post

  1. 01

    Start a post

Open Library and click New post. On a phone, tap the round pencil button in the corner.

  2. 02

    Fill it in

Add a title and your post, and pick a Category if one fits. You can also add a cover image and a video.

  3. 03

    Post it

Click Post. You can edit or delete your own post later from its menu.

On the web, type @ in a post to mention someone.

Some categories are for hosts only (the host, admins, and moderators). They don't show in your Category picker, but you can still read and reply there.

Add a cover or a video

On the web, the post form has Cover and Video above the post. Both show on the post in the Library list and at the top of the post.

  • Cover: click Add a cover image, then drag and zoom to frame it. Covers are 2:1 (1600 × 800).
  • Video: paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Tella, Descript, or Wistia link. Or click Upload a video for an MP4, MOV, or WebM file.
  • Uploaded videos count toward your workspace's storage, and your plan's file size limit applies. Removing the video or deleting the post frees that space.
  • With both, the cover shows before the video plays.

The iPhone and Android apps show covers and videos. Add them on the web.

Read, reply, and heart

  • Sort the Library by New or Best this week. Pick a category to see only its posts: on the web from the list beside the Library, on a phone from the row at the top. All posts (web) or All (phone) shows everything.
  • Open a post to read it and the replies. Write in the reply box at the bottom.
  • Tap the heart on a post or reply to show it helped. Best this week ranks posts by hearts.
  • The post's writer or a moderator can Mark as best answer on a reply. It shows under the title.
  • To report a post or reply, open its menu and pick Report.

Pin and order categories

Pin the categories you read most. Your pins are just for you, so nobody else's list changes.

  • Web: right-click a category, then Pin to top. Drag your pins to put them in order.
  • iPhone and Android: long-press a category, then Pin to front. Use Move left or Move right to put your pins in order.
  • To unpin, open the same menu and pick Unpin.
  • The host, admins, and moderators can drag categories on the web to set the order everyone sees.
  • On the web, the same menu has New post here to write a post in that category.

Open a resource

The Resources category has one post for each file, guide, or template that comes with the community. The host adds them on the product, and new ones show up when they publish.

  • Open the post to read the guide or board right there, preview a file, download it, or add your own copy to your workspace. On a phone, boards open on a computer.
  • If you see "This resource comes with the community's product.", your access doesn't include it.

Go to an event

  1. 01

    Find it

Open Events. Upcoming is first. Times show in your time zone, with the host's time next to it when it's different.

  2. 02

    Say you're going

Click I'm going (on a phone, Going?). You get a reminder a day before, an hour before, and when it starts.

  3. 03

    Join

The join button shows up 10 minutes before the start and stays until the end. It opens the call link, or the host's Eden Live room.

  • Add to calendar saves one event to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or another calendar app.
  • Before the call, ask a question under Questions before the call. Heart other people's questions so the host sees the top ones first.
  • Some events are only for certain members. You only see the ones that are for you.
  • To send an event to a friend, click Copy link on the event (on a phone, tap the share button at the top). If the host turned on Open to anyone, they can say they're going too. See Share your events.
  • Bought a cohort that uses this community? Its sessions show on Events too. Their link shows 15 minutes before.

Go to every one

A repeating event has Go to all next to I'm going. Click it to say you're going to every one, including ones the host adds later. You get reminders for each.

  • Can't make one? Click Going on that one to skip it. The rest stay on.
  • Click Going to all again to stop. Weeks that already happened stay as they were.

Keep events in your calendar

  1. 01

    Open the calendar menu

Open Events and click Sync to calendar.

  2. 02

    Pick your calendar

Pick Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. On Android, pick Other calendar app for anything else. Or click Copy link and paste it into your calendar's "add by URL".

Every event you're going to shows up, and it stays up to date. When the host moves or cancels a call, your calendar changes too. Google can take up to a day to catch up.

Watch an event you missed

Open Events, then Past. Open the event and click Watch the recording or Read the recap when the host has added them.
