Sharing and installing Custom AIs
Choose workspace-only or link access, submit a frozen version to the marketplace, and understand what recipients can use without exposing your private workspace.
Sharing and marketplace publishing are separate choices. A link controls access to your live workspace Custom AI. A marketplace submission creates a frozen, reviewed version for discovery. Neither gives another person access to your workspace.
Workspace only or anyone with the link
Open the Custom AI and choose Share:
- Workspace only lets members of the current workspace use it.
- Anyone with the link creates a profile link (
app.eden.so/ai/...). People with that link can preview the Custom AI and add a private copy. It is not listed in marketplace search or Explore.
There is no separate Public link setting. Discovery belongs to the marketplace approval flow, so link access and marketplace visibility cannot accidentally contradict each other.
Submitting to the marketplace
You can submit a Custom AI while its workspace copy is either workspace-only or link-accessible. Eden freezes the current definition and eligible knowledge as a candidate version, then sends that version to review. Approval makes the marketplace version discoverable; it does not change the sharing setting on your workspace copy.
If you update an approved Custom AI and resubmit it, the currently approved version stays live while the replacement is reviewed. If the reviewer requests changes, the note appears in the Share dialog. Edit your Custom AI and submit a new frozen version when it is ready.
What travels — and what doesn't
For a direct link copy, the recipient gets:
- your instructions and conversation starters,
- the presentation — name, description, icon or image,
- public creator references, which re-resolve to the same public material on their side,
- eligible sources you explicitly chose to include.
They never get:
- access to your workspace, boards, notes, or Library,
- your chats or history with the Custom AI,
- your connected accounts or anything else in your workspace.
Marketplace installs are managed instead. Attached boards, documents, and processed files travel as publication-owned snapshots; public creator references remain live. Recipients can use the Custom AI and view knowledge marked for them, but its protected instructions and bundled documents are not copied into their workspace for editing.
Installing one
Open a shared link and press the install button, or browse Explore for approved Custom AIs. Installed AIs appear in My AIs next to the ones you built. Marketplace installs retain their publisher and approved-version provenance.
Why share at all
- Teams — build the brand voice or house editor once; everyone drafts from the same standard.
- Creators with an audience — package how you think about your craft into an AI your audience can install and use. It's a new kind of thing to publish.
- Communities and classrooms — share a study companion for the material everyone is working through, and let each person fill it with their own notes.
Using Eden's built-in Custom AIs
The Explore tab has ready-made Custom AIs built and maintained by Eden — install one, preview the knowledge it ships with, and save the useful pieces to your Library.
What is a Custom AI
A Custom AI is an AI you build around a chosen set of knowledge — your docs, boards, books, or favorite creators — so every chat starts inside the right context instead of a blank box.
Use case: one Custom AI per client
For agencies, freelancers, and ghostwriters — give every client their own sealed AI carrying that brand's voice, positioning, and material, so nothing bleeds between accounts.
