Using Eden's built-in Custom AIs

Building your own Custom AI is worth it for your material. But some jobs benefit from expertise you don't have to assemble — a research method, an editorial doctrine, a strategy playbook. That's what the built-ins carry.

Installing one

Open Custom AI → Explore, browse by category, and open anything that looks useful. The profile page shows what it does, its conversation starters, and the knowledge it ships with. Press install and it joins My AIs.

They come with knowledge included

A built-in isn't just a clever prompt. It ships with a bundle of working material — methodology notes, playbooks, worked examples — that it draws on when you chat. That bundle is versioned and maintained by Eden, so an installed built-in improves as Eden publishes updates.

Looking inside the knowledge

Open a built-in's Knowledge list to see what it works from. Each source is labeled:

• Viewable sources open in a safe reader — tap one to read the actual methodology note.
• Copyable sources add a Save to Library button. Press it and that document becomes a normal item in your Library, yours to read, highlight, and attach to your own Custom AIs.
• Some sources are used privately at runtime — the AI reads them to answer you, but they're not exposed as documents.

Built-ins vs your own

• Built-ins are managed. You can't edit their instructions — Eden maintains them so their quality holds. If you want a variant, build your own and save the pieces you liked out of the built-in's knowledge.
• Your chats stay yours. Conversations with a built-in live in your workspace like any other chat.
• Remove anytime. Removing a built-in from your workspace keeps your chat history.
