Saving to Eden from your iPhone
Send links, text, images, videos, PDFs, and EPUBs straight into Eden from any app on your iPhone using the share sheet, or import files from the Eden app.
You don't have to be in the Eden app to save to Eden. From almost any app on your iPhone, the share sheet drops what you're looking at straight onto a board or into your Library.
The Eden iOS app adds a share extension — the "Eden" option that appears in the iOS share sheet. Tap it from Safari, Apple Books, Files, Photos, or most other apps, and Eden saves the content, then lets you choose where it lands. You stay in the app you were in.
What you can share into Eden
Eden's share sheet accepts a wide range of content:
- Web links — share a page from Safari or any browser and it saves as a link card, preview and all.
- Text — share selected text as a quick note.
- Images — photos and screenshots land as image cards.
- Videos — short clips save as video items.
- PDFs — share a PDF from Files, Mail, or a browser download and it saves as a document you can read and highlight.
- EPUBs — share an ebook from Apple Books, Files, or a download and it lands in your Library with its cover, ready to open in the reader. See reading EPUBs in Eden.
How to share something in
- 01
Tap Share, then Eden
In the app you're using — Safari, Apple Books, Files, Photos — tap the Share button and choose Eden from the list. If you don't see Eden, tap More and turn it on once.
- 02
Pick a destination
Eden shows a short list of quick destinations at the top, then your boards. Your most recently used boards sit near the top, and you can create a new board right there if you need one.
- 03
Save
Confirm, and the item is saved to Eden. Open the app whenever you're ready and it's waiting on the board or in the Library you chose.
The quick destinations
When you share a readable link — an article, a newsletter, a YouTube video — three options sit above your boards:
- Library saves it without putting it on any board.
- Reading list saves it to your Library and adds it to your reading queue for later.
- Read now does the same, and the next time you switch to Eden it opens straight into that item's reader. (iOS doesn't let the share sheet launch an app for you, so it waits for you rather than jumping.)
Other shares (images, PDFs, plain text) just show Library and your boards.
Importing files inside the app
You can also add files without the share sheet. In the Eden app's capture screen, choose to import a file and pick a PDF, EPUB, image, video, or audio file from Files. It uploads and lands the same way a shared file does.
