Stan Store is the easiest creator store to start: one link-in-bio page, 0% transaction fees, and $29 a month. People look for alternatives for three reasons: there's no free plan, the tools you want for a launch (discount codes, upsells, email, affiliates) are on the $99 plan, and it can't sell some products at all. The best alternative for most creators who sell what they know is Eden, which puts discount codes on $29, upsells and affiliates on $79, and adds cohorts, coaching applications, and AI products. Beacons and Payhip are the best free options, and Gumroad handles sales tax for you.

This guide is for creators on Stan now, or comparing it before they start. Full disclosure: we make Eden, which is first on this list, and we say plainly where Stan is the better pick. Prices and fees were checked on each company's own site in September 2026. Payment processing (usually 2.9% + 30¢ per US card sale) applies on every platform.

What Stan does well, and where it stops

Stan is fast. A creator can go from zero to a live store with a course, a coaching call, and a download in an afternoon, and checkout is two taps on a phone. It takes 0% of every sale. For a lot of creators, that's the whole decision. See the full breakdown in Stan Store fees.

Where it stops:

  • No free plan. It's $29 a month after a 14-day trial, before your first sale.
  • The launch tools cost $99. Discount codes, order bumps, funnels, email marketing, affiliates, payment plans, and ad pixels are all on Creator Pro.
  • It sells files and access, not help. A buyer gets your course or template, then they're on their own until they book a call.
  • You handle sales tax. Stan calculates it, but you're the seller.

1. Eden

Eden is a creator workspace with a store and a free link-in-bio page. You build products from the notes, lessons, and files you already have, and every product you publish shows up on your page.

What it does well:

  • Stan's product types, plus more. Courses, digital downloads, memberships, and coaching, like Stan, plus cohorts with seats and live sessions, bundles, and Custom AI products.
  • Launch tools for less. Discount codes, order bumps, and timed sales on the $29 Starter plan. Pro at $79 adds one-click upsells after checkout, an affiliate program, and Meta Pixel tracking. Stan puts these on its $99 plan.
  • Coaching built for real programs. Applications before anyone can pay, a hidden price, booking on your own Google Calendar with Google Meet links, intake questions, and a private space for each client.
  • An AI that teaches your product. A course or coaching product can come with an AI that knows your method, answers buyer questions, and runs the exercises. Nothing on Stan does this.
  • A free page. Your link-in-bio page is free on every plan, so you can set it up before you sell anything.

Where it falls short: Eden takes 5% of each sale, so on the same $29 plan, Stan is cheaper per sale. Eden has no built-in email broadcasts (it sends buyers and signups to Kit, beehiiv, GoHighLevel, or Substack), no webinars or community space, no buy-now-pay-later, and no custom domain.

The fee math: against Stan Creator, Stan wins on price at every volume. Against Stan Creator Pro ($99), Eden Pro ($79 plus 5%) is cheaper until you sell about $400 a month. Eden Starter is cheaper until about $1,400 a month, but it has no upsells, affiliates, or pixel tracking. Full comparison: Eden vs Stan.

Price: page free. Selling from $29/mo (Starter), 5% per sale.

Best for: creators who sell what they know and want the launch tools without the $99 plan.

2. Beacons

Beacons is the most Stan-like tool with a free plan. You can sell unlimited digital products and one course on the free plan, with a media kit and a small number of email sends included.

Where it falls short: 9% seller fee on the Free and Creator plans, and 0% only from Creator Plus at $30 a month. The free plan shows Beacons branding and caps email at 50 sends a month.

Price: Free, Creator $10/mo, Creator Plus $30/mo, Creator Max $100/mo.

Best for: creators who want to test selling before paying anything.

3. Payhip

Payhip sells downloads, courses, coaching, and memberships, and every plan gets every feature. You only choose how you'd like to pay: in fees or in a monthly price. It also collects and pays EU and UK VAT and US sales tax for you.

Where it falls short: the storefront looks plain next to Stan, and it isn't built to be a link in bio.

Price: Free (5% fee), Plus $29/mo (2%), Pro $99/mo (0%).

Best for: sellers who want tax handled and no monthly bill.

4. Gumroad

Gumroad has no monthly fee and is a merchant of record, meaning it collects and pays sales tax and VAT around the world for you. That alone is why many sellers outside the US use it.

Where it falls short: 10% + 50¢ per sale, plus processing. Sales that come through Gumroad's Discover marketplace cost a flat 30%. Payouts need a $100 balance. Once you pass $20,000 in sales in a month, direct sales drop to 5% + 50¢. More in our Gumroad alternatives guide.

Price: free, 10% + 50¢ per sale.

Best for: occasional sellers and anyone who wants tax off their plate.

5. Podia

Podia bundles courses, downloads, coaching, community, and webinars into every plan.

Where it falls short: low email caps (100 to 1,000 subscribers by plan) and a 5% fee on the cheapest plan.

Price: Mover $49/mo (5% fee), Shaker $99/mo, Earthquaker $179/mo. Cheaper billed yearly.

Best for: creators who want courses and a community in one simple place.

6. Linktree

Linktree is the default link in bio and now sells courses, digital products, and bookings too.

Where it falls short: the fees. 12% on the free plan, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% only on Premium at $35 a month. See Linktree alternatives and Stan Store vs Linktree.

Price: Free, Starter $8/mo, Pro $15/mo, Premium $35/mo.

Best for: creators who mostly share links and sell now and then.

7. Komi

Komi is a clean, modern page with brand deal tools, popular with influencers.

Where it falls short: selling digital products needs the Pro plan, and it has fewer product types than Stan.

Price: Free, Pro $20/mo ($16 billed yearly), 0% fee on digital products.

Best for: influencers who sell a few products next to brand work.

8. Kajabi

Kajabi is the full suite: website, funnels, unlimited email, community, courses, and a branded app. It's the tool Stan creators graduate to when they have a big course business.

Where it falls short: price. Basic is $179 a month with a 2,500 contact cap. See Kajabi alternatives.

Price: Basic $179/mo, Growth $249/mo, Pro $499/mo. 0% platform fee.

Best for: established course businesses that will use the whole suite.

  • Stay on Stan if you're on Creator, don't need the Pro tools, and sell a lot. 0% on $29 a month is hard to beat.
