Write in your own voice
Eve learns your voice from your posts and your writing, then every chat drafts in it.
In a new Eve chat, click Teach Eve your voice under Make Eve yours. Add your handles or paste something you wrote, then click Learn my voice. Eve writes a My voice doc, and every chat drafts in it from then on.
Teach Eve your voice
- 01
Open the sheet
Click Teach Eve your voice under Make Eve yours in a new Eve chat. You can also open Memory and click Teach Eve your voice on the Your voice card.
- 02
Give her more to read
Eve always reads your best posts from your connected accounts. Add your handles on other platforms, paste something you wrote, or add docs from your Library. All of it is optional.
- 03
Learn it
Click Learn my voice. It takes up to a minute. Your My voice doc lands in your Library, tagged Voice.
It works the same on web, iPhone, and Android. You can also ask in any chat: "learn my voice from this newsletter" with a link or the text.
What Eve learns
Eve reads up to 5 of your best posts on each platform, 15 in all. "Best" means posts that beat your own usual numbers, not just your biggest ones. Your doc covers these things.
| Section | What's in it |
|---|---|
| How I sound | Your tone, rhythm, and how you back up a point |
| Core ideas | The beliefs you keep coming back to |
| My concepts and frameworks | Ideas you've named, in your words, with a link |
| Ways I say things | Your own phrases and openers, word for word |
| Never sounds like | Habits you'd never write |
| By format | How a tweet, a LinkedIn post, or a newsletter differs |
| Short-form structures | How you build your short posts |
| Long-form structures | How you build newsletters, threads, and videos |
| Best passages | A few short lines from your top posts |
| Learned from | A dated log of what Eve read |
Where your voice is used
Once Eve learns your voice, Your writing voice in Settings → Personalization is set to Your voice, learned by Eve, unless you already picked a Custom AI there.
Posts, emails, scripts, and ideas in any chat then come out in your voice. When a chat drafts a post, it also looks at a few of your real posts in that format. Answers and explanations stay in Eden's normal tone. What you ask for still comes first.
It keeps learning
- From your corrections: when you tell a chat "I'd never say that" or rewrite a line in your words, Eve adds it to your My voice doc in the background.
- From new posts: about every two weeks, when a chat writes in your voice, Eve folds in your newest top posts. Nothing changes if there aren't enough new ones.
Update it now
- New posts: open Memory and click Update from my latest posts on the Your voice card.
- More writing: click Add writing on the same card.
- Change it yourself: edit the My voice doc. Chats use your edits within a few minutes.
Turn it off or switch voices
| Do this | How |
|---|---|
| Pause it for now | Click + next to the chat box and turn off Writing voice |
| Turn it off for good | Pick Off under Your writing voice in Settings |
| Use a Custom AI instead | Pick that Custom AI under Your writing voice |
Your voice is kept per workspace. In a workspace where Eve hasn't learned it yet, chats use no voice until you teach her there.
