Get the latest Eden MCP tools
When a new Eden tool or command doesn't show up in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or a coding agent, here's how to make your app load the current list.
Most apps load Eden's tools when a chat or session starts. Start a new chat first. If the tool is still missing, reconnect Eden or restart the app.
Load the new tools

Start a new chat
A chat that's already open keeps the tool list it started with.

Turn Eden off and on
Toggle Eden in the app's connector or MCP settings. This makes the app fetch the list again.

Restart or reconnect
Quit and reopen the app. If that fails, disconnect Eden in the app and connect it again from Settings → MCP.
Where to do it in each app

| Claude | New chat. Then check Eden in Claude's Connectors page (Settings → MCP → Manage in Claude). |
| ChatGPT | New chat. Then toggle Eden in Settings → Plugins (the MCPs tab in the desktop app). |
| Cursor | Toggle Eden in Cursor's MCP settings, or reload the window. |
| Claude Code | Start a new session. |
| Codex | Quit and reopen Codex. |
Check Eden's side too
A tool may be switched off in Eden. Open Settings → MCP → Tool permissions and make sure it's on. Changes there apply the next time your app starts a session.
If write tools are greyed out, your connection is read-only. Switch it to Read & write on the same page.
What updates on its own
- Your content. Boards, notes, saved posts, follows, and lists are read live every time.
- Your Custom AI commands. New, renamed, or archived Custom AIs update your
/eden-commands, usually within a minute of using the app.
So refresh for new tools. Don't bother for new content.
